The newest 4-Star dungeon in Throne and Liberty is home to Lucien within the Abyss of Corruption. Lucien isn’t the hardest of bosses to beat, but you need to pay attention to the boss mechanics and work as a team to bring them down. This guide will explain how to beat Lucien in Throne and Liberty.
Lucien Boss Fight Guide in Throne and Liberty
Lucien appears at the end of Abyss of Corruption, which is also known as the Epic Dungeon. The boss’s attacks are pretty telegraphed and repeatable, but teamwork is required to take her down. The dungeon itself is quite linear, and the only hurdles you face are some low level enemies blocking your path. But once you go past all that, you get to Lucien’s lair. Let’s take a look at their moveset and how to go past them.
Basic Attacks

- Lucien is mostly a melee boss and will use the scythe and AoE attacks to push back players while dealing damage.
- The boss will teleport and summon flaming meteors to hit random spots. Pay attention to the floor and avoid any marked areas.
- Lucien will spin and slam their scythe to the floor, creating a small AoE radius and damaging anyone who is close by. Just dodge out of the way when you see the scythe go up.
- Lucien will also jab the scythe straight ahead, and players caught in this path will take damage. Dodge around the boss and continue to hit them.
Teleportation AoE

Lucien will teleport behind a random ranged player and create a conical AoE that creates knockback and damage. Anyone caught within this path will receive damage as the boss will follow the targeted player. The only way to stop this from happening is for the target player to go around the boss or keep his distance from the other players so the AoE damage falls elsewhere. This attack is also the best one for other players to go behind the boss to unleash their own devastating combos on Lucien.
Skulls and Scythe

A player in your team will be singled out and rendered immobile. At the same time, Lucien will place three stone plates on the floor with various symbols. Three players on the field will receive skulls on top of them. Marked players will have individual scythes tossed at them that will follow them around the arena temporarily. You will also spot a large red crystal appear within the arena.
The goal here is to break the red crystal using the scythe to receive another symbol on their head instead. Use the symbol as a reference to step on the stone plate with the matching symbol and free the imprisoned player. The strategy here must be for the player closest to the red crystal to break it quickly, see what the new symbol that pops up above his head is, locate the stone plate, and step on it. Other marked players need to run around the arena to avoid the scythe or get close to the boss to use the scythe’s added damage.
Keep an eye on the timer around the immobile player; once the timer ends, the player will be wiped from the match.
Fury Attack

Following the previous attack, if the player has been set free, they will receive a black shield that will protect all players who come within it. Skull marked players need to wait a bit for the scythe to disappear, as this will deal damage if it hits anyone. Quickly enter the marked area to avoid the boss’s Fury Attack AoE. Healers could use this time to heal all party members.
Row and Column Attacks

Another major move by Lucien is pretty easily telegraphed. Keep an eye out for several red columns that mark the floor and step into the unmarked area. Players caught within the marked area will have rolling blades hit them. The markings will change right after and turn into horizontal rows. Again, just step away to avoid taking damage. Use the time while waiting outside the marked areas to deal damage.
Lucien Boss Fight Rewards
All of the steps above will repeat a few times till you get Lucien’s health down enough to defeat them. Once done, you get to complete the Abyss of Corruption dungeon, and each player will receive random rewards like:
- Reaper’s Soul
- Mana Blood
- Abyssal Contract Tokens
- Special Resistance Medal
- Precious Polished Crystal
- Adventure Coin Fortitude
- Steel Wall Guardian’s Enduring Gloves
- Weapon Mastery Seal
- Noble Polished Crystal
