Oblivion Remastered has a vast number of weapons that you can use against almost anyone in the game. Not all weapons are considered the same in terms of value and damage, and the enchantment they offer. Since you have so many options to choose from, it can be difficult to pit one against the other. Here we have compiled the list of the absolute best weapons found in Oblivion Remastered.
Best Weapons in Oblivion Remastered
We have covered Swords, both one-handed and two-handed, a staff, and a powerful bow in the game. We also mentioned the whereabouts of the weapons, along with the damage and ability details to give you a clue on the weapon and its power in the combat scenarios.
Umbra

Abilities: Soul Trap for 120 Sec
Damage: 28
Weight: 45
Where to Find: You must get to the end of the Clavicus Vile Daedric quest in the game to get the sword. There is a unique way to complete the quest. Follow our simple guide that will help you find the optimal way to complete this quest.
While the ability here is nothing to write home about, as you will find countless spells that can help you trap souls. But the major highlight of the sword is its damage, and a technique that can allow you to carry the sword at 0 weight. The sword is part of the quest, and at the end of the quest, you will get to decide whether to keep the sword or hand it over to the quest giver to complete it. Follow the guide to learn the best course of action for this quest. We highly recommend that you get the sword, as it will easily take you to the end-game without breaking a sweat.
Volendrung (Blunt)
Abilities: Drain Health by 5 Pts and Paralyze for 3 seconds
Damage: 20
Weight: 60
Where to Find: You must finish a Daedric quest related to the weapon to obtain it. Here we smile, steps to guide you through all the objectives and their fair share of requirements to complete the Daedric Quest for Volendrung.
Here we have a Dwemer two-handed Warhammer that hits like a train. Two of the highlights of the weapon are its enchantments, Drain Health, and Paralyze. What’s fun is that if you decide to equip this weapon and carry it on your back, any Orcs you come across in any part of the world will address the Hammer.
It should be noted, the hammer is a Daedric artifact, so it will serve you well from the mid-point in the game to all the way to the end.
Ebony Blade

Abilities: Absorb Health by 8 Pts and Silence for 10 seconds.
Damage: 23
Weight: 46
Where to Find: You must head to the Shrine of Mephala, located east of the Silver Road, to start a Daedric quest. The quest does follow a complicated path to its completion. We have a guide to keep the route simple to complete the quest as quickly as possible.
Although it’s a one-handed weapon, pairing it with a shield will make it an unstoppable force in the game. The enchantment here is A-tier quality, as they offer Silence and Absorb Health. A perfect blade against any Necromancer or any Mage in Ruins or outside Cyrodiil. The quest can be a bit difficult to finish, but the weapon at the end will be worth the time investment.
Chillrend
Abilities: Frost Damage for 20 pts and Weakness to Frost 35% for 20 seconds.
Damage: 21
Weight: 22
Where to Find: You must finish a quest titled The Killing Fields by talking to Valus Odiil in the Gray Mare Inn located in Chorrol.
The damage of the weapon scales with your level, so the more you level up in the game, the more positive effect you will have on the weapon. When you are playing the game for the first time, we highly recommend that you grab this weapon; it will take care of any low-level enemies and even some enemies at the mid-tier at its base level. As your level increases, you can switch to different weapons or just keep Chillrend with yourself at all times, since the damage will reflect the level of your character.
It is the best weapon to grab early on in the game. The second you complete the prologue or the tutorial level, just head to Chorrol and start the quest right away.
Goldbrand

Abilities: Fire Damage for 22 pts
Damage: 25
Weight: 52
Where to Find: Head to the Shrine of Boethia to start the quest. Goldbrand is part of a Daedric story questline, so prepare for a lot of challenges before you get the sword. IT is one of the difficult quests, we recommend you to be over Level 20 before tackling it.
Goldbrand is a golden one-handed Katana. If you are tired of using the Ebony Blade, then you can make a switch to the Goldbrand. The best part of the weapon is its enchantment, the fire damage for 22 pts will set everybody in a blazing flame. And the damage is quite good for a one-handed weapon, pairing with a good shield will carry you through the game without any problem. One of the disadvantages or annoyances about the weapon is its weight, which is around 50.
Note: Goldbrand is seen as the second most powerful one-handed weapon, next to the Umbra sword.
Dawnfang/ Dusk Fang
Abilities: Fire and Frost Damage for 11 pts
Damage: 22
Weight: 47
Where to Find: You must complete the Baiting the Trap quest in the Shivering Isles DLC. You have to get out of Cyrodiil into the DLC area to start the quest.
One of the, if not the most memorable, swords in the original Oblivion. The highlight of the sword is its switch; Duskfang comes after 6:00 PM in-game, and Duskfang turns into Dawnfang after 6:00 AM. The enhancement that comes with the sword will get automatically recharged when replaced with the other one. But the best part of the weapon is its Nourish Blade effect.
The effect tracks the number of enemies slain with the weapon. If you kill 12 enemies with Duskfang or Dawnfang, then the next switch will offer a superior version of the sword. It’s better to just kill your own summon with Duskfang to make Dawnfang stronger when the game makes a switch, or vice versa.
Hatreds Soul

Abilities: Fire Damage for 35 pts and Drain Speed 30 pts for 45 Seconds
Damage: 24
Weight: 12
Where to Get: Get inside the Sunken Tower within the Oblivion gate located in Chorrol.
Not an easy weapon to get, but the journey to the weapon will be worth your time. The bow only gets better with time; the more you level up, the higher the devastating damage you will do with the bow. It does a fantastic job of stopping the enemies at a distance as it drains speed out of them. A perfect way to land critical shots on the enemies, as they will not have their proper speed to charge towards you.
Apotheosis
Abilities: Fire/ Frost/ Shock Damage for 33 pts
Charge Cost: 12
Weight: 10
Where to Find: Make sure to carry a lot of gold to get this staff in your bag. You must head to Rindir’s Staffs, located in the Market District in Imperial City, to find the staff.
The staff is powerful, initially, when you are planning to rely on magic and magic only. We have also added this staff to our best sorcerer build guide. The enchantment is the killer facet of the staff, as it covers all three necessary elements from Frost to Shock and deals 33 points of damage. The best thing about the weapon, you don’t need to deal with any level or quest requirements. Once you get the money, you can just buy it from the seller. The full potential of the weapon comes into fruition once you reach Level 20.
