If you have mastered being a Spider-Man main, then you would have noticed that matches get a whole lot easier due to his combo moves and moveset. But if you end up facing a Spider-Man, then you would have had a harder time trying to manage your stance. He is one of the toughest Heroes to counter, but with the right hero, you can try and manage to get him backed into a corner. There are a few tips and tricks to follow while trying to counter Spider-Man, and this guide details how to do that in Marvel Rivals.
Best Spider-Man Counters in Marvel Rivals
While trying to pick out heroes to counter Spider-Man, try to find Heroes who can immobilize and stun him in his tracks. You will also need heroes who are able to track Spider-Man’s movements and land attacks. There are a few heroes you can use in this situation, and they are:
Namor
While most players won’t consider Namor the best counter for Spider-Man, you can’t go wrong when his Ultimate Ability is activated. With the Horn of Proteus, you can nullify Spidey’s mobility, then follow that up with Aquatic Dominion to efficiently tackle Spider-Man. If you feel cornered playing as Namor, you can always activate the Blessing of the Deep to create a protective shield around him and get to safety before Spider-Man can get to you.
Scarlet Witch
With Scarlet Witch having auto aim for her primary attack, you can easily track Spider-Man and shoot him down before he gets to you. If you do find him in close combat, quickly unleash her Dark Seal ability to create a force field that will stun him. This makes it easier to lower his HP as long as he remains immobile and within reach.
Loki
You can easily confuse Spider-Man with Loki’s skills, and there is a chance where you can turn invisible to avoid Spider-Man’s attacks. You just have to wait till he gets close enough to your clones, then use Loki’s primary attack or his Backstab ability to deal damage. Mastering Loki’s skills can be tricky, but it is the best way to mislead Spider-Man away from your team.
Punisher
Punisher’s main attacks mostly involve his guns and turrets, but he does have a few tricks up his sleeves. You can use Punisher’s Scourge Grenade to obscure Spider-Man’s line of sight, and follow that up with Adjudication or Deliverance. If you want to go all out but can’t get a good grasp of Spider-Man’s location, just go ahead with Final Judgement and unleash everything you got. You can make a quick escape with Vantage Connection, so you don’t get caught by Spidey’s web toss.
Hela
Hela’s attacks are a bit sneakier to detect, hence why this is a perfect counter for Spider-Man. She has good range and can plant several detonators near Spider-Man’s location. Hela can also stay out of reach while planting explosives, which is handy if you don’t want to get caught. If you manage to get Spider-Man within your eye of sight, quickly unleash Soul Drainer to stun him in place.
Peni Parker
Peni Parker’s speed and mobility can give even Spider-Man a run for his money. This is a great way to evade his attacks, or chase him down to single him out. Peni’s Bionic Spider-Nest can send out drones that will seek out nearby enemies and detonate on impact. She can also plant mines near his lair, but it can get tricky to get him near it if he has already spotted it. Her Spider-Sweeper ultimate ability is strong enough to pin down Spider-Man if required.
Mantis
Mantis has one of the best immobilizing moves in the game. With her Spore Slumber ability, she can knock out Spider-Man when he gets close to her. Plus, her damage boosting abilities to herself and her allies can help dish out some hard attacks before he wakes up. She can also get a movement boost using Nature’s Favor, which can help her evade or track down Spider-Man in the open.
