Spell Binder is very effective when you are going against a boss with spell immunity. It’s not common to face tougher bosses that can reflect the spell damage, picking Spell Binder against them will save your monkey’s life. The Spell Binder can successfully stop the usage of every spell to raise the damage of your attack. While at the initial phase of the game, you might not think it is necessary to have such a spell, but as the game amps up the difficulties of the boss fight, having a Spell Binder will be incredibly helpful. Guide To Obtain Spell Binder In Black Myth Wukong
The Spell Binder unlocks after defeating the Green-Capped Martialist at the end of the Treasure Hunter questline in Black Myth Wukong. Like many unlocks in Black Myth Wukong, the majority of them are hidden behind optional quests and bosses. Spell Binder follows the tradition, as you will have to jump through too many hoops to get it.
The second part of the Treasure Hunter questline will require us to have the Ring of Fire spell (Boosts your healing effects and recovery of the Gourd). Obtaining the spell is not difficult compared to the rest of the spells in Black Myth Wukong, you must make progress in Chapter 3, here you will face Macaque Chief many times, but the last encounter with the boss will take place in Warding Temple overseen by a Hermit. Once you defeat the enemy, the hermit will grant you the Ring of Fire spell.

How To Start The Treasure Hunter Quest In Black Myth Wukong
Rescue the Treasure Hunter from the enemies in the Bitter Lake region to start his quest in Black Myth Wukong.
- Fast travel to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Keeper’s Shrine under the Bitter Lake travel menu. Turn around and head toward the lake, no need to enter the water, stick to the shoreline on the right. Eventually, you will arrive at a Torii gate with red walls leading you inside.
- Go through the doorway, and start moving straight, you will see a building upfront and soon you hear the noise of enemies with the sound of calling for help. Once you get close to the building, in the front a man is being harassed by three enemies. That man is our treasure hunter, to make him talk we must take out the enemies around him.
- Here you need to keep talking to him until he runs out of words and exhausts the dialogue options, eventually, he will talk about the treasure and promise to go 50/50.
Finding The Treasure Hunter For The Second Time
- Fast travel to the Towers of Karma Keeper’s Shrine under Valley of Ecstasy. Head south of the shrine, the Treasure hunter will be sitting on a log to our right, next to the rocks.
- He will mention the cold around him, here we use the Ring of Fire spell to get him warmed up. He will enter the precious ring of fire and stay inside it.
- Here we can then talk to him about the next phase of the mission. Again, we must exhaust all the dialogue options before moving. Let him chew your ear, only move when he has nothing more to say.
- The clue he will give out points us to the Melon Field.
- So go back to the Tower of Karma Keeper’s Shrine right from the Treasure Hunter to travel to our destination. Travel down to Forest of Felicity Keeper’s Shrine in Valley of Ecstasy.
- Move left from the shrine, don’t take the stairs on the left instead go down the slope on the right until you come across a large pillar. Take the route left from the pillar and stick to the direction eventually, you will reach a small lake. Look to your right you will see a wooden bridge, take the bridge then turn left till you reach the end of the land. Here jump down the ledges, and cross the large tree trunk to get to the lower floor.
- Once you land on the floor below, you will see the Melon Field Keeper’s Shrine to your left.
Green-Capped Martialist Boss Fight
Tips: Pack some medicine with many burn-resistant items and gear. It is one of the bosses that loves attacking relentlessly, so having more medicine and an increase to defense stat again burning will come in incredibly helpful.
- After resting at Melon Field Keeper’s Shrine, move left of the shrine to enter the Boss area. A cutscene will soon play out, get ready to fight the Green-Capped Martialist. Spoiler Alert: It’s the treasure hunter himself.
- It’s not going to be an easy fight, make sure you are prepared before tackling him. Watch out for his long-range attacks, make sure to dodge them quickly or you will be the one with a 3rd-degree burn. The best way to beat the boss is to pay attention to his chakrams before making the move. the second half of the boss fight has him wield two flaming chakrams instead of one.
Once you defeat him, a cutscene will soon follow up of him running away from the battle. Then the monk will turn the entire area into a melon field living up to the shrine’s name and finally hand you the Spell Binder.
