Leaving Disease unchecked in Frostpunk 2 is detrimental. Not only does it adversely impact the existing Workforce, but also raises Tension. Hence, if you feel that Disease is on the rise in your city, you can check out the solutions listed in this guide to reduce Disease in Frostpunk 2.
Ways To Decrease Disease In Frostpunk 2
You can decrease Disease in your city by constructing specific hubs and buildings, enacting Disease-focused Laws; creating Outposts; and effectively tackling Cold, Hunger, and Squalor.
Before Disease goes out of hand, make sure you keep checking the syringe icon under the Resource tab. If you notice that Disease is marked as “Absent”, you need not worry. However, if Disease is marked as “Growing”, you need to take constructive actions to get the position to “Diminishing”.
Each of the above points is explained in detail below:
Constructing Buildings & Hubs
There are many Buildings that you can construct to reduce Disease in your city. Just head over to the Society Idea Tree and refer to the chart given below to develop the hubs mentioned.
Type of Building | Type of Research | Location |
Hospital | Hospitals | Housing Districts |
Recovery Hospital | Hospitals | Housing Districts |
Teaching Hospital | Hospitals | Housing Districts |
Pharmaceuticals Laboratory | Pharmaceuticals | Industrial Districts |
Pharmaceuticals Testing Laboratory | Pharmaceuticals | Industrial Districts |
Panaceum Factory | Panaceum Factory | Industrial Districts |
Every Housing District consisting of any kind of Hospital will have the ability to exercise Preliminary Triage. This ability helps in reducing Disease but will cause some people to die in exchange. You must take an informed decision as to whether or not you want to activate this ability depending on the severity of the situation.
Enact Disease-Focused Laws
Laws are an integral part of the Frostpunk 2 world, and you can propose, vote, and negotiate laws focused on reducing Disease in your post-apocalyptic city. The laws listed below, along with their availability, will help you improve your strategy:
Law | Council | Availability | Idea Tree |
Contagion Prevention: Infectious Badge | City | Immediately available | Not Applicable |
Contagion Prevention: Supported Quarantine | City | Immediately available | Not Applicable |
Worker Shifts: Weather Adjusted Shifts | Survival | After research | Resources |
Treatment: Experimental Treatment | Society | After research | Society |
Treatment: Conservative Treatment | Society | After research | Society |
Procreation: Birthing Programme | Society | After research | Society (Radical Idea) |
Funerals: Harvesting Funerals | Society | Immediately available | Not Applicable |
Conduct Medical Trials ability will be available once the Treatment: Experimental Treatment Law is enacted in Housing Districts with a Hospital. Similar to Preliminary Triage, this ability will help in decreasing Disease in exchange for the death of a few people.
Research Ideas That Help Reduce Disease
Head over to the Research Section on the Menu, and go to Society. Over here, you will notice icons below each heading; and one of these will have a Syringe symbol. Researching that Idea will reduce disease in Frostpunk 2. You can click on that symbol to get a detailed view of how much time, what extent of impact, and which factions would welcome that idea.
Explore The Frostlands & Create Outposts
After sending your Frostland Teams on exploration in Frostpunk 2, monitor places that might provide healing solutions for Diseases that are raging in your city. Once you locate such an area, start constructing an Outpost and utilizing the resources that it has to offer. Do not forget to connect the Outpost to New London using a Trail or Skyway.
Take Care Of Cold, Hunger & Squalor
Some other problems that you might have to face in Frostpunk 2 are Cold, Hunger, and Squalor. If these are not properly monitored, each of these problems will give rise to Disease.
You can reduce Cold in your city by addressing the Heat Scarcity issue by increasing fuel output, building additional Extraction Districts, and upgrading the Generator. You can also build additional Housing Districts (along with Heating Hubs) and decrease District Workflow to decrease Heat Demand.
To tackle Hunger, build additional Food Districts, expand the existing ones, and research ideas to increase Food output. Similar to tackling Disease, you can also enact Laws that target Food like Food Additives: Forged Additives or Chemical Additives (Council: Survival; immediately available for vote).
Squalor arises from the inability of the city to meet its demand for essential Materials. This can be tackled by adding Extraction Buildings, construction of Material Hubs, and improving Production Efficiency. You can also explore Filtration Towers and Waste Management Facilities to reduce Squalor in Frostpunk 2.
