Guide To Craft Spice Rack in Valheim
Here’s a guide to how to build the Spice Rack and hang it in the proper place. Believe me, just like in real life, the hard part is always placing the item you just bought.
Step #1: Gather The Ingredients
Here’s what will we need for Spice Rack:
- Dandelion x3
- Carrot x2
- Mushroom x5
- Thistle x3
- Turnip x 3
| Ingredients | Location |
| Dandelion | The best location for some Dandelion is to head down to Meadows biome. The respawn time here is around 240 minutes. |
| Carrots | It is found in random spots at Black Forest |
| Mushroom | In the same place as Dandelions in the Meadows biome. The same rule applies here as well, the respawn clock ticks for 240 minutes. |
| Thistle | Head to either Swamp or Black Forest, but make sure to do your ‘Picking’ adventure at night. You will have an easier time picking them at night because they glow, making them easy to spot. |
| Turnip | While you are in the Swamp biome, you can also look for some Turnip. The yellow colored flower is the usual giveaway. |
Crafting Workbench- You will need 10 pieces of wood and a Hammer to build it. Grab the axe, and strike any tree that you come across, you will easily get plenty of wood for crafting.
Step #2: Crafting The Spice Rack
Go to the Crafting menu, Spice Rack now will be available for crafting, it’s on the first row, the fifth item from the left.
How To Place The Spice Rack In Valheim
The correct technique in placing the Spice Rack is to have it hang off the ceiling rather than trying to place it on the ground or against a wall. Think of it as a chandelier, or wind chimes.
If you can’t set it right, the best way is to build a Wood Beam and add it to any one of the pillars or walls in the house. Make sure they are at a higher position probably near the ceiling, and make sure that they protrude out and are not parallel to the wall.
The other key thing is that it needs to be near the Cauldron – if you try placing it too far away from the Cauldron, you will get a message saying it needs to be near the Crafting Station – which is the Cauldron in this case.
Pro-tip: You can build a Wood Beam, hang the Spice Rack on it, and then remove the Wood Beam! The Spice Rack will continue to be pinned to the wall where you had put the Wood Beam.
Then you can now place the Spice Rack below the Wood Beam.
What Does The Spice Rack In Valheim Do?
The Spice Rack is a level 2 upgrade for the Cauldron and unlocks the following recipes:
- Turnip Stew
- Sausages * 4
- Black Soup
- Serpent Stew
- Muckshake
- Onion Soup
