You can utilize Kay’s Speeder to zip across the regions while on land in Star Wars Outlaws, but the basic build of the Speeder can only get you so far. If your vehicle is not up to par, you might have a hard time trying to evade enemies or chase after them. The game offers a plethora of Speeder upgrades to utilize and enhance your trusted vehicle like a Jump feature and Speed Boost. In this guide, we have detailed out how to upgrade your Speeder and listed all Speeder upgrades available in Star Wars Outlaws

Where To Upgrade Your Speeder in Star Wars Outlaws

You can upgrade your Speeder in Star Wars Outlaws by heading over to any Speeder Mechanic across the various planets – these are identifiable on the map with a speeder and wrench icon. Each region will have at least one such mechanic to help you out. You might also receive quests where you can unlock Mechanic Experts. You can find this particular questline in Toshara, and after completing it you can get access to Selo Rovik the Mechanic Expert.

The only region that won’t offer such services is Kijmi, so you can avoid it if you are on the hunt for Speeder upgrades

All Speeder Upgrade Types in Star Wars Outlaws

There are two broad categories of speeder upgrades you can find. You can find the Special Upgrades and the Basic Mechanical Upgrades. Special Upgrades deal with the speeder’s mechanics, such as speed and jump. Most of these upgrade types get unlocked as you progress through the storyline and complete various missions.

The second type, Basic Mechanical Upgrades, deals with the speeder’s internal systems. These include the engine and chassis and will require you to scavenge for the right parts and items to improve them. The more you try to upgrade the system, the rarer the parts required. We will list out all the upgrades you can currently get under these two categories

    Special Upgrades:

    • Speed Boost
      • Requirement: Diffuse-Ion Accelerator
      • Effect: Increases speed for a short duration
    • Jump Boost
      • Requirement: Repulsion Blast Coil
      • Effect: Allows the speeder to utilize the Boost Jump ability
    • Hydrorepulsor
      • Requirement: Speeder Surface Repulsor
      • Effect: Enables the speeder to dive over water.

How To Get The Speed Boost Upgrade In Star Wars Outlaws

To unlock the Speed Boost upgrade, you have to pick up and complete Selo Rovik’s Expert quest called The Mechanic. To unlock the Mechanic quest, head over to Toshara of SWO and complete the New Tricks mission. Completing this will automatically unlock The Mechanic quest to complete.

Once you have the Speed Boost Upgrade, you can upgrade the ability twice. Each upgrade will offer a different effect:

How To Unlock Jump Boost Upgrade In Star Wars Outlaws

Unlocking the Jump Boost ability requires you to perform a 60-meter jump off a ramp. To find the ramp, just head west of Kadua Village, but you can find more ramps around Toshara too. When you get close to the river valley, you will spot the jump ramp that leads to the mouth of a cave.

To use the Jump Boost ability, just hold A/X while on flat ground to make a small jump. This ability can be upgraded to increase the jump height of your speeder, by collecting the following resources:

Hydrorepulsor Upgrade For Speeder In Star Wars Outlaws

This is the only upgrade not linked to The Mechanic questline and the only one that does not offer a second ability. To get this upgrade, head over to Akiva and follow the main storyline here till the quest The Droidsmith. During the quest, Gedeek will give you a hint on how you can drive over water using your Speeder. This will give you the intel to start another Expert questline called The Scavenger. This quest belongs to Temmin Wexely, and completing it will automatically unlock the Hydrorepulsor upgrade.
