Star Wars Outlaws has you in the shoes of Kay as she makes her way across a variety of planets, and attempts to align herself with various factions. There are quite a few situations where the game asks you to make a choice, which can significantly impact her standing with these factions. One such situation arises during the main quest ‘The Hive’; and in case you want to be sure of the consequences of your decision; we have answered in this guide what happens if you give The Strand to Krisk or the Queen.
What Happens If You Give The Strand To Krisk?
If you give the Strand to Krisk; you get a huge bump up in your reputation with Crimson Dawn. Story-wise; Krisk stages a mini-coup and disposes of the Queen; and takes her place as the ruler of the Ashiga Clan. The key thing is that you do not suffer any negative consequences on the reputation front with any of the factions.
What Happens If You Give The Strand To The Queen?
If you give the Strand to the Queen; you get a huge bump up in your reputation with Ashiga Clan. The Queen remains the Queen, and she gets her bodyguard to dispose of Krisk. In this case, however, you lose reputation with the Crimson Dawn.
Who Should You Give The Strand To: Krisk Or The Queen?
We recommend that you give the Strand to Krisk – for the simple reason that it does not cost you any of the hard-earned reputation with the Crimson Dawn; which does happen in case you give the Strand to The Queen.
Clearly, the Ashiga Clan- being the hive that they are, don’t mind as long as they get someone to be the ruler of the clan. Rewards in both cases remain the same:
- A Blaster Upgrade – Power Blast Kit
- New Crew Member – Ank Parako
- Trophy / Achievement unlock – One Job At A Time
Story-wise as well, the cutscene post this decision remains exactly the same. Kay comes a bit unnerved having witnessed an assassination; however, Qi’ra schools her in the ways of the world and assures Kay that she is playing an important role in the quest for freedom.

The game releases on Aug 30th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. The game is available to play a couple of days early for pre-orders. Early reviews have put the game as Generally Favorable with a score of 77 on Metacritic.
