Entering chapter six of Valor Mortis means embracing dirt, grime and poison as you work your way through the Cursed Marsh. Usually you’d have to wait right until the end of the chapter for your fill of boss fighting, but on this occasion you’ll be treated to it almost right away.Â
Anna, the bride of drowned tears is your resident boss for this chapter, and she’s one of the more aggressive bosses you’ll face, practically forcing any player that has been avoiding parrying to this point to step up their game.
Here is how to handle this boss, and the best way to crash the wedding.
How To Prepare

Anna is a boss that is all about getting up close and personal with you, meaning that while weapons will still play their part, your sword of choice plays more of a vital role here.
This is the ideal build that we would suggest:
- Recommended Level: 25+
- Primary Weapon: Rapier
- Ambers: Dominatus, Lunatic’s Grasp, Limit Break
- Items: Hand Grenades, Flaming/Stasis Whetstone, Refreshing Vial
- Recommended Ferrofluid Flasks: 6+
While this would be the build I would suggest, I would also highlight that, if you’re a confident player, Ambers like Glass Soldier and Butcher’s Carnage can be incredible in this fight, especially in the sections where you are fighting one-on-one.
Also, I would suggest the Rapier for it’s ability to break posture faster, but if you’re more confident with the Saber, or haven’t upgraded the Rapier, the Saber works just fine.
How To Beat Anna

The fight against Anna is like an elevated version of an encounter with one of the mad villagers. The first phase of this fight will be Anna rushing you head on to perform a series of melee attacks, sometimes mixing it up with a glowing red attack where she will do a jump attack.
She will also try to catch you off guard by sinking into the poisoned water that covers the arena, usually popping up behind you and immediately rushing you. So, have your head on a swivel.

When she falls to about 66% health, she will sink into the ground and spawn three shambling civilian enemies. One melee attacker, one ace thrower, and one running spear wielder. But, while fighting them, Anna will still be on the offensive, so the best thing you can do is be very mobile and get as much distance as possible to pick off the weaker enemies with gunfire.
This same process will repeat again when she’s at a third of HP left, and it will be the same configuration of enemies. If you have one eye on her rushing you, and the other on the other’s position, you should be able to find a sweet spot in the arena where you have a moment to line up your shot.

Survive the endless onslaught of melee attacks, and you’ll come out the other end the victor, earning 14,000x Catalsysts as your reward, as well as the opportunity to start the side quest ‘Till Death’
