Palworld is all about finding a spot in the world, even if you have to carve it out yourself. Especially with updated gameplay, and new pals and resources, finding the right base can make a big difference to how your experience with Palworld turns out to be. To ensure that you get the best possible start, I’ll be going over some of the best base locations in Palworld, ranging from early to late game.
Whether it’s for permanent residence or an offshoot for an important resource, let’s go over some of the best you can establish!
What to look for when setting up a Base In Palworld

Bases in Palworld are very flexible, and while I’m going to give some examples of great spots, there are a few prerequisites that can lead to any area becoming a decent base.
Generally, you’ll need to find a spot with a solid patch of flat land with easy access to some kind of resource. These can be Pals, Ores, Wood, any resource you’ll generally find yourself needing a surplus of.
By setting your base right beside the resource of your choice, you minimize the need to go out and grab the resources yourself to resupply the base, allowing it to become more autonomous. That way, while you’re progressing through field bosses or Towers, your pals are cutting down the material grind.
Beachside Beginnings

Base Type – Early Game
Our first pick is a personal favorite, located at coordinates 108, -329. This base location sets you right beside a beach covered in a variety of Pals, and directly next to a repeatable boss variant of Penking, one of the best early game base Pals you can find.
With easy access to water, a variety of pals, and the small forest to the west, the base gives you everything you could really need to get a new save started. To get there, head due north from the Hill of Beginnings.
On the way, snag a few Pupperai from the surrounding forest, avoiding the Mammorest, likely far outside your level range. Once you arrive, you’ll have a collection of water-type Pals to nab, including a powerful Penking boss spawn that you can easily farm for a strong start.
You’ve got easy access to fishing, a forest to your left for wood, and a few constant Pal spawns to quickly empower your base. It’s a great start, but not every base needs to be a permanent residence.
Mining Mini-Base

Base Type – Early to Mid Game
Located at 187, -37, is a small patch of land surrounded by ore deposits. This spot is a perfect sub base once you’ve leveled up your Palbox to allow for multiple setups. From here, you can set up a largely autonomous endless supply of ore!
Setting a pack of strong Mining pals to stay at this base will give you a strong resource siphon for the early to mid game, until basic ore begins to outlive its usefulness. You’ll find uses for it for most of the game, so this is a perfect place to establish that supply early.
This style of small-scale mini-base can be established anywhere that has a resource you’re in need of.
Forward Operating Base

Base Type – Late Game
Another great function for bases, when you’ve unlocked extra, is by abusing their ability to be teleported to and from. Especially useful in co-op worlds to help allies get to areas out of their reach or level access.
Alternatively, if there’s a grinding spot you’d really like to get back to that you can’t easily warp back to, such as the Pure Quartz deposits by -855, -455, then temporarily setting up a Palbox there is a great way to keep the door open.
These types of Forward Operating Bases allow you to revisit world bosses when they respawn and keep a tab on resources. Just remember to come back and claim your bounties once they’ve amassed.
Tropical Trappings

Base Type – Mid Game
Located far to the west of the volcanic continent, at coordinates -788, -659, is another small beach perfect for constructing a base once you’ve unlocked the tech for setting up logging stations and quarries.
This small nest of land is perfectly laid out for easy defense should a raid arise, while acting as a perfect home away from home alongside your main base. Use it to keep a constant supply of resrouces you’ve established, but know you’ll need more of.
One of the only parts of the volcanic continent outside of the heatwave effect, this base will serve as a beautiful little bonus to your burgeoning industry.
Island of Silence

Base Type – Early Game
Right on the Isle of Silence, fast travel is our next Base Location, found at coordinates -450, -16. This idyllic little island is a perfect spot to build a base, both for the surge of early Pals that spawn all around it and the sizable forest surrounding the area.
These trees will ensure mass quantities of wood and fiber, two constantly required materials, while the early Pals can be used either for grinding or as base builders while you search for better stock.
The Isle sits surrounded by further exploration points and hosts the Medal Merchant inside a small broken church. He’ll trade you for useful items to amplify stats, both for yourself and your Pals, so keeping him nearby is a blessing.
Sunreach Stabling

Base Type – End Game
On high in Sunreach, you’ll find a myriad of useful Pals and resources. As such, let’s establish a base at -518, -1499. You’ll be right beside a fast travel point, and directly northwest of the Eidrolon field boss.
Just like the early Penking, having a base right beside a useful Pal like this will make your life much easier, allowing easy farming and a fail safe defensive force if the fight goes bad. You’ll also find mountains of Soralite, an important endgame ore you’ll need to get mountains of.
A great late game base to build, this is my current end game spot until my setup in the World Tree is finished, as hostile as that area is!
