Heartopia – How to Get Drums

If you’re on the Music Dream track, you’ll eventually need to get some drums in Heartopia to be able to complete one of the tasks. Unfortunately, drums aren’t so easy to come by, and there’s only one option present in the whole of Heartopia if you want them.

What Quest Requires Drums in Heartopia

After you unlock Dreams at D.G. Member Level 16, you’ll be able to write books. But things get even more interesting at D.G. Member Level 17 when you gain the ability to record your own music. You get a couple of instruments for free as you complete quests, including a recorder and a lute, but you’ll quickly find yourself enchanted by the possibility of having a music room in your home.

The bottom row of the Dream Log tree for the Music Dream has three quests:

    1. Play the piano once.
    2. Play the drum set once.
    3. Play the recorder once.

It’s that second quest we’re focusing on here. It will give you 10 points towards your Dream Progress, which might not seem like much, but if you’re a completionist… Well.

Where to Buy Drums in Heartopia

The only way to buy drums in Heartopia is by talking to Annie. Annie is the vendor for two stores in Heartopia: Friendship (which has Solo Actions and Emotes) and Music (which sells instruments and the records your friends produce in-game).

Talk to Annie and ask to see her musical offerings. You’ll be greeted with some of the most expensive items in Heartopia, including a Conga drum kit that costs 72,000 Gold.

Did I want to spend 72k on drums? Absolutely not. But I did for this guide. It’s not all bad; I’ve been leveling up my Gardening and Cooking skills since day one, so I make a solid 50-100k per day when I’m not just popping online to complete my daily quests.

How to Use the Drums in Heartopia

The drums don’t have any of their own music sheets in Heartopia; they’re really just for ambience, considering the type of drums they are. There are eight drums that your avatar can hit with their hands to play.

The huge downside of the drums is that you can’t carry them around to play them or put them down in any public areas. With handheld instruments, you can hold them and play them wherever, which is incredibly enjoyable during the Winter Event because you can play for other Heartopians, but drums don’t have that benefit.

You might want to consider looking up the basics of conga drums online to better learn how to use this particular instrument, because nothing in Heartopia can teach you how to make them work in a song, but there are plenty of tutorials for conga drums online that could give you a headstart.
