Arknights Endfield: How to Unlock New Facilities

Arknights Endfield does a lot to shake up the typical Gacha game formula, most notably in its focus on Industry and facility management. Plenty of critical resources for progression require materials, buildings to refine said materials, and more.

Facilities of all kinds take time and resources to put together, but the first step is unlocking them, a rather simple process, once you know what you’re looking for.

    Researching Facilities

The first step to properly utilizing facilities is researching them in the AIC tech tree. This tree is unlocked through the story, sectioned off into tiers that are further gated by story progress.

Unlocking new tiers requires Basic Expansion Cores, rewards from Main Missions, while individual facilities will require Basic AIC Indexes found in the world.

The game recommends certain facilities first, though the player is free to pursue any focus they desire. Personally, rushing the Field Mobility 1 tab under Exploration unlocks Zipline Pylons, a super convenient boost to your overall mobility, especially around areas you’re likely to revisit.

Unlocking Zipline Pylons can trivialize revisits to certain locations, making repeat visits to useful resources or traveling around bases much easier.

Where to Find Basic AIC Indexes

Basic AIC Indexes can be earned by interacting with Protocol Dataloggers, marked on area maps by a blue oval shape. The number of Dataloggers in a given area is marked at the bottom of the screen, alongside the general area stats.

Dataloggers are found in the environment underneath the waving Sky Dancers, with each offering one Basic AIC Index. Every area only has so many, so make sure to continue progressing through the main story to find more.

    Facility Practice and Simulations

Alongside the tech tree, players will also unlock access to the Simulation menu, accessed from the tech tree itself. Simulation mode tasks you with utilizing the Facilties you’ve unlocked, offering practical examples of their use and rewarding players with Oroberyl, Operational EXP, and Blueprints.

Simulations are perfect for helping to clarify the purpose and practicality of facilities, allowing you to try before you buy. You won’t be able to access the full scope of your facilities without completing the relevant Simulation, so make sure to keep up on them.
