Each vendor in Escape from Tarkov will give you certain tasks to complete apart from the main story. These tasks will help you learn the core mechanics of the game and introduce new elements to make your gameplay better. When it comes to the Mechanic, you will get the Gunsmith tasks from him. How to Complete the Gunsmith Part 2 Task in Escape from Tarkov
The second part of the Gunsmith task from the Mechanic has you modifying the AKS-74U. He will give you the list of specifications that you need to adhere to, and you must follow the requirements to complete the task. First, you need to get your hands on an AKS-74U, which can be obtained through raids or by purchasing it from the traders. If obtaining the gun through raids, repair it before you start adding your attachments. Next, head into your weapon arsenal and find the AKS-74U.
Use the scroll button on your mouse and press it while hovering the cursor over the weapon to fold it, which will give you the required 6 slots. Right-click on the weapon to get the Edit option, which will take you to the workbench if you have one unlocked. Next, you need to get and place the following attachments.

With the above set of attachments, you can keep the Muzzle empty, since we have already taken care of the required 59 score on Ergonomics through the other attachments. The most difficult attachment to get here will be the AK-74 Magazine, where you will probably have to go through quite a few loot boxes before you get lucky.
Hand over the completed weapon to the Mechanic to complete the quest, which will earn you the following rewards.
