The map of Avowed is vast, and the first region Dawnshore has several secrets to uncover as you explore the region. You might have encountered a locked Pyromancer’s chest out in the open that cannot be picked, nor is there a key nearby. This guide covers where to find this chest, the key for it, and the rewards it holds.
Pyromancer Chest Location In Avowed
The Pyromancer’s Chest is found within an empty campsite on the western section of Dawnshore. If you head north from Ivona’s Threshold, just past Berath’s Gateway, you will spot a graveyard. You don’t need to enter the graveyard, but instead keep heading north towards Pargrun Wall. Right between these two locations, on top of a cliff, you will spot a locked chest near an empty camp. Interact with it to find that you require the Pyromancer’s Key to unlock it.
Pyromancer’s Key Location Avowed
There is a note containing a hint on where you can collect the chest’s key just next to the chest itself. Luckily, the key’s location isn’t too far away from your location. The key is located on top of another cliff near the cemetery. To make your way up there, enter the cemetery that you passed by earlier or take the path to the right of the cemetery. If you do enter the cemetery, you will spot a group of Graverobbers.
You can talk to them, or outright attack them. Talking to them will also lead you to attack them, but you can spare one of the group members out of pity. Whichever choice you pick, you are now free to roam the graves without hindrance. Follow the main path that will lead you out through the right-side exit. Immediately on your left, you will find a path leading upwards towards Fractured Shore. Go up the wooden stairs, jump across, go forward till the path bends to the left.
Continue straight to the right side to find the skeletal remains of the Pyromancer and the Pyromancer key beside it. You can also pick up the Anextli’s Grimoire beside the corpse, but it’s not a very powerful spellbook to own.
Pyromancer Chest Rewards
It is worth taking the effort to unlock the chest, as you can get the Common Grimoire of Embers spellbook from it. With that, you can unlock new Pyro spells if you have the Grimoire Mastery unlocked. Besides that, you also get the following rewards.
- Silver Fennings x9
- Spirit Residue
- Softwood Branched x2
- Pelt
- Grenades x4
