Path of Exile 2 has different side quests when you start exploring the various Acts. Some quests are hidden, and will unlock only after you complete a secret objective. Once you reach Act 3, there is a secret Mushroom side quest that helps you upgrade your Life and Mana flasks. But to start the Mushroom quest, you need to pick up one of the three mushroom types, either the Red, Green, or Blue mushroom. In this guide we have put up all the details on how to complete the Mushroom quest in Path of Exile 2.
How To Complete The Mushroom Quest In Path of Exile 2
This particular side quest will not show up on your quest log. Rather, you need to explore the map, defeat enemies, and get a particular drop to start the quest. This quest unlocks in Act 3, and you need to find three different mushroom types; the Red Mushroom, Green Mushroom, and Blue Mushroom. But to find it, you need to explore the Apex of Filth. This area unlocks after you gain access to The Drowned City.
You can get to this location as part of the Legacy of the Vaal main quest. The main boss of the Apex of Filth is the Queen of Filth, so you would have been here at some point of time. Once you reach the area, look around for any enemy and defeat them. The mushrooms are random drops from these enemies, so it might take a while to farm them. Eventually, you will gather all three types of mushrooms, which will bring us to the final step of the quest.
What to Do With The Mushrooms In Path Of Exile 2
You need to take all these mushrooms to the Cauldron Keeper, who can also be found within the Apex of Filth. Since her spawn point is random, you have to keep exploring the map till you find a large bubbling cauldron. You can usually find her beside a checkpoint within the region, or right after the Grimescrabbler, the Renowned boss fight arena. There will be a flight of stairs leading up to an altar beside her, giving you an indicator that you are going in the right direction. The Cauldron Keeper is a vendor, so you can check her wares for some loot.
Anyways, coming back to the mushrooms, you can drop them into the cauldron to get the Uncommon Life and Uncommon Mana flasks. They also come with variable stats, so no two flasks are the same. Before you equip them, you need to identify them. Use the Scroll of Wisdom on them, then you can find the Flasks on your character bar at the bottom. Once you have the flasks on you, you can use items like the Orb of Augmentation to further enhance or change the stats.
While you can find better flasks by purchasing them from different vendors, this is the only way to get free flask upgrades in the game. There are a bunch of other Path of Exile 2 quests to pick up, like the Ominous Altars quest and the Trial Of The Sekhemas, so do check them out.
