NetEase Games’ is taking the Marvel Rivals experience to another level by bringing in all sorts of exciting characters and locations for players to try out. With 33 playable superheroes, there’s much to look forward to in this third-person shooter game with great visuals & strategy-friendly combat.

Heroes like Wolverine, Captain America, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow have all been added in the game, but out of all the characters, Cloak & Dagger stand out the most. They are two playable characters in one body, making them a unique and fun pair in fights. Here’s a guide on how to use their different abilities and come up with the perfect fighting style.

    Cloak & Dagger’s Abilities

Each of the two characters has their own set of special powers.

    Dagger

Dagger is the “Light” part of the duo and has separate attacks and an ultimate combo attack with Cloak.

    Normal Attack:

    AbilityEffect
Lightforce DaggerThis is where she’ll throw daggers of light at the target. These daggers can cause damage on the enemies while simultaneously healing your teammates. The knives of light can also be bounced off of the ground to heal teammates near it.

    Q Key Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Eternal BondThis is where she’ll quickly perform three dashes. These attacks can heal teammates and cause damage on the enemy.

    LSHIFT Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Switch to CloakPressing “LSHIFT” will switch you to Cloak instead of Dagger. This transformation can be done anytime, even during combat.

    E Key Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Veil of LightforceThe “E” key will cause Dagger to cast “Veil of Lightforce”, where a veil will be released that can heal teammates in the area and also give them a health boost.

    Right Click Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Dagger StormCauses Dagger to release a healing barrier around the teammates. This sphere/healing field will stay for some seconds, helping your teammates gain health during intense fights. Only those players within the field will be healed.

    Team Up Ability:

    AbilityEffect
From Shadow To LightDagger’s team up ability will have both Dagger and Cloak casting a dark & light barrier that can turn Moon Knight invisible. After Psylocke, Moon Knight will be the only one who will have the ability to be truly invisible for a few seconds.

    Cloak

Cloak will have the “Dark” set of abilities that are mostly defensive. He can also debuff enemies through his attacks.

    Left Click Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Darkforce CloakHis “Left click” attack is the Darkforce Cloak, which will release targeted damage on a single enemy.

    Q Key Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Eternal BondThe “Q” key ability is the Eternal Bond, that will cause Cloak to make three dashes that inflict damage on the enemies.

    E Key Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Terror CapeThe “E” key causes Cloak to cast Terror Cape, a wall that would drain enemy’s health while also narrowing their sight. This will help you cause more damage in a short amount of time.

    LSHIFT Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Switch to DaggerSimilar to Dagger, clicking the “LSHIFT” key will switch your character to Dagger.

    Right Click Ability:

    AbilityEffect
Dark TeleportationA right click will cast “Dark Teleportation”, a power that can hide/phase your teammates, making them invisible to the enemy for a few seconds. This will give you and your friends a movement boost that can aid in taking out the enemy. The enemies won’t cause any harm to your team either, as all attacks will not work until the darkness is present.

For a controller, the keys would be:

    • RT: Primary Attack
    • LT: Secondary Attack
    • RB: Ability 1
    • LB: Ability 2
    • L+R: Ultimate Ability

    Cloak & Dagger Guide

If you choose these powerful heroes as your main characters, you’ll first start off with Dagger. You can either immediately switch to Cloak or do so only during fights. There isn’t any long cool-down period with the switches, so feel free to switch as you want.

Unlike the movies & comics, Cloak’s abilities here cause health damage, instead of causing insanity and nightmares. He can teleport quickly while casting the Darkforce attacks, making him a strong character for offensive attacks. While Dagger has offensive abilities too, she is better at healing the team by casting her attacks.

Once you damage your enemies enough using Cloak, you can shift to Dagger and quickly heal all your teammates. It will take some fights to learn how to play with these characters, since they are quite different from other heroes we’ve seen so far.

Cloak and Dagger are a cool pair to play as, since you can easily keep switching between them based on the direction the combat is going. If you’re a strategist who loves to plan each battle well, these characters would be great for you. The only thing you should keep in your mind is deciding the perfect moment to do the switch.
