A Brand New FromSoftware Game Set to Release Exclusively For Switch 2

Nintendo Direct just released the trailer for The Duskbloods, a new multiplayer game made by FromSoftware. While the fan speculation was set at Bloodborne for Nintendo, From Software did it better by bringing a brand new “Bloodborne” game exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, set to release in 2026.

So far, the details about The Duskbloods are limited, but the trailer does show the game carrying the visual aesthetic of Bloodborne. The first look at the trailer could have fooled anyone into thinking it is the Bloodborne game. The gothic architecture with the dark vampire world is nothing new to the video game world, but FromSoftware’s artistic magic makes the world more immersive.

The trailer features FromSoftware’s signature enemies with the grotesque design, stylized NPCs, each with their own vibes, and two players marching towards the boss arena. It won’t be a single-player experience, and while previous FromSoftware titles all have a multiplayer option, none of them leaned too heavily on it. But recently, we are seeing that multiplayer mechanics being pushed to the forefront with the announcement of Elden Ring, Nightreign, and now The Duskbloods.

While we might see Bloodborne on Switch or PC someday, Duskbloods comes closer to the Bloodborne world than any of the latest From Software releases. We will see more details about the game in the future. The game is set to release in 2026.

The wait, meanwhile for any news or updates on a Bloodborne remaster, or even better, a sequel, continues for the legion of fans that still keep going back to Yharnam every year for the Hunt.
