You do not hear new MMOs being launched from Amazon Game Studios daily, but when the news does drop in the market, it does create a huge ripple. Throne & Liberty doesn’t shy away from taking in classic gameplay systems from traditional MMORPGs and adding its own twist to them. This brings us to the Weapon Mastery System, it can get complicated, even if you dealt your hands with MMOs before. Here is a detailed guide on Weapon Mastery in Throne & Liberty.
What Is Weapon Mastery In Throne & Liberty?
The Weapon Mastery system behind every weapon allows players to allocate passive bonuses towards Damage Tree, Recovery Tree, or a fusion of both.
The rule of Weapon Mastery falls into the same circle as old school RPGs, where if you use the weapon, you will get better at it, but in Throne & Liberty, instead of getting better, you will gain Weapon Mastery XP, which then you can invest to Weapon passive skills. Completing the Weapon Mastery Level Bar gains you a Weapon Mastery Level point, point can later be invested to unlock the passive skills of the weapon.
Note: The abilities in the mastery section are all passive which means they stay activated all the time as long as you don’t switch to a different weapon.
In an MMO, each player will play the game differently than the other, so priorities will vary from player to player. While some players like to put all money or points into damage, others might find more value out of Mana or Health Regen. Through Weapon Mastery, Throne & Liberty gives the freedom and flexibility to you to allocate points to suit your overall playstyle.
Does Weapon Mastery Stay The Same For All Weapons?
Every weapon has three different branches in the mastery section, the branches change from weapon to weapon.
One of the best things about Throne & Liberty, is that every weapon type has a different classification of Weapon Mastery ability listed under them. While you might see a Damage tree in one weapon when you want to switch to a different set, you might not see the Damage tree option under its Mastery section. Instead, you will find other skills that suit that weapon more such as Incapciate or Charge. The variation between weapon types in Weapon Mastery is one of the amazing ways the game allows players freedom.
Weapon Mastery Of Greatsword vs Dagger
Here, for example, take something common to a Greatsword, here you will see Weapon Mastery skills such as Charge, Incapacitate, and Faceoff. Compare the Weapon Mastery of a Greatsword to another weapon like a Common Dagger, here the Weapon Mastery ability will be focused on Disguise, Poison, and Assassination.
And all of it makes sense, a Dagger should have rogue-like abilities to bring more out of them and fit the character of a scoundrel. At the same time, when you look at the Greatsword ability list, you will also find the Mastery skills fitting the type of weapon.
How To Upgrade Weapon Mastery In Throne & Liberty?
Every Weapon Mastery upgrade hinges on EXP or Experience. Once you get enough experience for the weapon you will be able to implement the Weapon Mastery Level changes to it. If you want to gain Weapon Mastery of Greatsword, then you will need to equip the Greatsword and start slamming foes with it.
There are three different ways to raise the Weapon Mastery bar of your preferred weapon
Taking down enemies
The best way and the only way for some people to raise the Weapon Mastery of a weapon is to just mow down as many enemies in the battle using the preferred weapon of choice. The method of just killing enemies to gain the XP will be the preferred method of choice for most, as people will no doubt uncover some grind route to get it faster quickly. But there are other ways the game encourages the players to mess around to raise weapon mastery.
Abyssal Contract Dungeons
Clearing the Abyssal Contract Dungeon is a great way to improve the Weapon Mastery of any of your preferred weapons but there is a huge catch here.
Note: All the Weapon Mastery levels that you earn from the Abyssal Contract dungeon go directly to the primary weapon selected in your character while your secondary weapon will get less benefit.
If you equipped the Dagger as your primary weapon and bow on the other, then clearing the Dungeon will net you almost all the XP to your primary weapon. You will have to run through it again with a different weapon, to complete Weapon Mastery with this method.
Training Dew
Complete Daily Contracts, Weekly Contracts, Normal & Co-op Dungeons to get Training Dew. This Training Dew can be used to upgrade Weapon Mastery.
What Do You Need To Know About Training Dew:
- Training Dew needs to be used immediately or they disappear from the collection after 1 day or 24 hours. You will have an entire day to use the Training Dew or you can kiss it goodbye.
- Training Dew will remain unusable if the Weapon Mastery of your choice of weapon has already reached Max, or not equipping any weapon in the slot.
