In The Precinct, you play as a cop on a quest to uncover the mysterious circumstances of your father’s death, exploring the city and collecting evidence. Towards the end of the game, you will be presented with a choice to either destroy your collected evidence or publish it. This guide will cover the best outcome for The Precinct and which choice to choose in the game.
The Precinct Ending Choice Guide

Once you reach the final section of the game, you will get a confession from Chief Jackson and his involvement in the demise of Nick’s father. He will also point you towards the safe in his office, where you can collect the documents regarding what transpired the night of the tragic event. At the end of the confession, Jackson will tell you to do what you feel is right with the documents.
He will also warn you that publishing the evidence will tarnish not just his but Chief Cordell’s reputation as well. To find the documents, make your way to the precinct and enter the Chief’s room. The safe can be found behind the painting on the wall, input the code 0530 to unlock it and collect the evidence. You now have to make a choice; publish them or destroy them.
Option #1: Destroy the Evidence

Make your way to Serenity Park in the northern section of the map. Once you reach the park, you can park your car on the highlighted spot, then get out and make your way into the park. Near the fountain is a large tombstone of Chief Cordell surrounded by a handful of gravestones.
There is a torch right in front of the tombstone, and interacting with it will give you the option to burn the evidence. With the evidence destroyed, you will get a different news headline the next day. You will be praised for saving the Chief, and Jackson will vow to end all gang activities within the city. Also, the leader of the August Gang will be apprehended.
Option #2: Publish the Evidence

Make your way to the north of Dutch Exchange and Electric Avenue. While you are on the road, keep an eye out on the right side to find an alleyway between two buildings. Head inside this alleyway and park your car in the designated spot. Right beside the parking area is the ACTV news building. Head inside the building to get the Publish Evidence indicator.
After the brief cutscene, the news headlines for the next day will showcase Jackson’s involvement with the August gang, and that they plan to take down Chief Cordell’s tombstone. The August kingpin will still be arrested regardless of what you do with the evidence. Chief Jackson will be sacked from the force, and a new Chief will be appointed.
Which Option To Pick?
If you like things the way they were, then you can go ahead and destroy the evidence at the park. Chief Jackson will turn over a new leaf, and everything will go back to normal. But if you are still up to show the truth, regardless of the repercussions, then go ahead and publish the evidence to the public.
This will negatively impact the protagonist’s father’s reputation as well, so think twice about what you wish to do with the evidence. The only thing consistent with both options is that the August gang gets dissolved and you won’t have to deal with them anymore.
