Starsand Island – How to Craft Radiant Cores

You don’t have to pursue crafting right away in Starsand Island, but when you do, then Radiant Cores will likely be the first multi-step craft you make. Radiant Cores are a needed component for crafting lighting fixtures, such as lamps. As a result, you’ll end up needing them early.

As you speak with Zerine and take the crafter quests from her, you’ll end up taking an errand from the bulletin board that asks you to craft a simple lamp. This is when you’ll need to make a Radiant Core.

Starsand Island – How to Get Fluorite

Before you can craft Radiant Cores, you need the materials. One Radiant Core requires four Fluorite and one Charcoal to make.

Charcoal can be made at the Charcoal Kiln for one Softwood and two Fiber, which will give you two pieces of Charcoal.

For the Fluorite, you need to head to the Moonlit Forest, which you can find by following the path behind your house, as it leads to the forest’s entrance. However, you need the slingshot and ammo to get inside, which you’ll get from meeting Zephyria as part of this questline. When you meet him, he gives you both items for free.

Then, you go to the entrance and hit the glowing sections with your slingshot, which opens the portal to enter the Moonlit Forest. Once you get into the first section of the forest, you can find Copper, Quartz, and Fluorite.

Fluorite is from the nodes with the yellow-ish crystals. You don’t need to process it before using it for Radiant Cores, but you want to gather a decent amount of Fluorite because it’s going to be your main way of repairing Moonweavers in the forest, which lets you teleport to different areas.

Zephyria warns you of enemies in the forest, but I didn’t come across any hostile creatures until I went a few sections deeper. So, you don’t have to worry about combat if you’re just staying in the opening area to mine materials.

Starsand Island – Crafting Radiant Cores

When you have your materials, you’ll need a Charcoal Kiln and Furnace. You’ll have all the recipes needed from Zerine’s quests before you reach the point where you need to craft a Radiant Core.

Start by using the Charcoal Kiln to craft Charcoal if you don’t already have some in your bag or stored. Then, you’ll use the Furnace to make the Radiant Core out of Charcoal and Fluorite.

Crafts using these stations comes with a short wait time for these early-game crafts. As a result, the longest part of crafting Radiant Cores is gathering the materials. Once you have them, it only takes a matter of seconds to put together your Radiant Core in Starsand Island.
