StarRupture – All Ores & How to Get Them

StarRupture has just entered its Early Access period, but there are already quite a few materials that you’ll need to collect for building and analyzing. The first resource you’ll be told to harvest is ore, and that’s also going to be a resource you need to keep harvesting to build pretty much everything you need to survive on this dangerous planet.

    Wolfram Ore

Wolfram Ore is one of the first two ores you need, and it’s likely the first one you spot. You can find it all over the map. Compared to other ore types, Wolfram is easy to see thanks to its reddish tint. While you’ll find small nodes, you can harvest greater amounts from the big arch-like Wolfram nodes. You’re also likely to get some Wolfram ore from Meteorites when you harvest them for their hearts.

    Titanium Ore

Similar to Wolfram Ore, you need Titanium Ore right from the beginning of the game. Combined with Wolfram, it lets you make basic building materials with the item printer. Titanium Ore is also found throughout the map, but it has more of a silvery tint to it instead of the reddish tint of Wolfram. Just like Wolfram, you can also find Titanium from Meteorites.

    Meteorites

Meteorites are filled with a variety of ores, including Wolfram, Titanium, Calcium, and Helium-3. You also get a Meteorite Heart from each one you harvest, which you use to get a chunk of points from the Analysis Station. You’ll find Meteorites across the map, with more appearing after waves. Generally, you can spot them from a distance, as they’re quite large and have steam coming out of them.

    Calcium Ore

Calcium is an ore that you can find early, but you won’t have a use for it until you level up with the corporations at your main terminal. Fitting for Calcium, the nodes have a look to them that makes me think of bones. They’re off-white with less of the metallic shine that you see with Wolfram and Titanium. However, they’re also found around the map and in Meteorites, but the actual Calcium nodes are more likely to be farther away from the landing location compared to Wolfram.

    Helium-3 Ore

Helium-3 Ore is unique in that it is also smoking like Meteorites. However, the nodes are often much smaller and have a purple tint to them. You’ll usually find them around Meteorites, but I feel like I spot them around ponds and plants more often. Of course, you can also pick up Helium-3 from Meteorites. But just like Calcium, you won’t be using this as a resource early on.

    Sulfur Ore

Don’t even think about getting Sulfur until you’ve dumped points into leveling up with corporations. Specifically, you need to reach Level 9 with Selenian Corporation to get the blueprints to build a Sulfur Extractor, which is the only way to harvest Sulfur. Then, you need to build the extractor in an area that gives you an alert that the air is toxic, lowering your health the longer you stay in it, which will gather the Sulfur for you.

    Ignitium

Ignitium is unique in that, for now, it’s mainly used to get points at the Analysis Station. However, it gives you a good chunk of points that provide a great boost to leveling your reputation with corporations. These ores are only found for a short period of time after a wave, and they’re easy to spot since they’re molten red. If you want to level quickly, you need to go around and harvest as much Ignitium as you can after each wave.

While that covers the currently available ores in StarRupture, it’s possible that future updates will add or change which ores you can find and how they’re used.
