You begin your brutal adventure in Stalker 2 in the Lesser Zone, a starting location where you learn the ropes of the game. You will come across a variety of side quests that help you peel a layer of the dark, devasted land of the zone. This article is a guide on one such early quest in the game: the Poppy Fields quest, which also has a Unique Weapon as a reward on completion.
How To Start The Poppy Field Quest In Stalker 2
The Poppy Field mission is given by Mityay NPC in one of the buildings in Zalissya village. When you take the quest, the map will get updated with new information regarding the location of the religious item that you have been asked to hunt. You will see a Poppy Field icon on the map.
On the map, you will find the Poppy Field location northwest of the Lesser Zone near the Pol Deport. If you are packing your bags to leave the Poppy Fields, remember to carry tons of Energy Drinks.
How To Navigate The Poppy Fields In Stalker 2
Drink a lot of energy drinks to keep you awake.
When you are in the Poppy Fields, there are no monsters here for you to worry about. The enemy is far more sinister, it is your state of awake. On the outside, the field will give you a warm vibe in the desolate land of Lesser Zone. But once you step into the field filled with red flowers, you will start to get drowsy. Staying drowsy for too long can make the game switch to multiple scenarios:
- Either you hear voices all around you;
- You get teleported to different locations;
- And lastly, Collapse and Die
Since staying in the poppy fields is not the brightest idea, the best way to make it out here alive is by drinking an energy drink.
How To Complete The Poppy Fields Quest In Stalker 2
You will find the religious items in the cellar.
The proper info on the cellar can be obtained by paying 2000 coupons to Pomor in the house on the eastern edge of the village. But we will give you it for free, the location of the caller is a bit west of the poppy field icon on the map.
You will find the cellar with a ladder in the middle of the field filled with red flowers. Go down the ladder, you will find the religious picture on the shelf on the left of the room. Grab the item and get out of the cellar.
Bug Alert: While typically you will find the item on the shelf there is a chance you might not see it on it. Here look at the floor or the area around the cellar to grab it. You have to see the item to grab it, if you don’t see it then you won’t be able to add it to the inventory. Since the items can get knocked down, they could go through the floor, if that happened then bad luck. Wait for the patch to fix it, or you can try your luck in reloading the save.
Give The Religious Item To Mityay Or Pomor?
Option 1: Hand It Over To Mityay
Head back to Zalissya where we accepted the quest, here you can give the religious item back to Mityay to complete the quest.
Reward: 1000 coupons
Option 2: Sell It To A Merchant
Instead of giving the item for 1k to the Mityay, you can decide to sell the item to any Merchant in the game for 1500 coupons.
Option 3: Hand It Over To Pomor (Unique Weapon)
The third option has you selling the item to a different NPC found in the house northeast of the poppy field. You can trade the religious icon to the Pomor for a unique gun: the Unknown Stalker’s AR416 (Low Durability) It comes with Built-in Stock and Grip. 5.56×45 Bullet Type and Mag capacity of 30.
The gun has low durability, it will cost you 7,180 to fix it to get it working properly. While initially you will be broke, so better to dump the item in the stash and take it out once you are running around the zone with a thicker wallet.
Tip: Even if you found a better gun by the time you repair the AR416, you can sell it for 8475 Coupons, here we are looking at 1k profit.
