Slay the Spire 2 has plenty of fun with the different events you can find between runs, even including a few special follow-ups if you choose the right options.
One of the most tantalizing is the Hidden Treasure, an Act 1 event that lets you choose between a potion or a Treasure Map! If you pick the map, you’ll be stuck with an unplayable dead draw until Act 2 reminds you why you picked it.
Now, Let’s look for some buried treasure!
Finding and Carrying the Map

Starting this little quest chain is entirely random and is based on running into the random event during Act 1. The actual form of Act 1 doesn’t matter, be it the Overgrowth or Underdocks.
You’re looking for a random event node called “The Legend Was True.” It can be all too easy to mash through events when you aren’t keeping an eye out, so make sure to slow down as you traverse the map.
Aim for event nodes to increase your chance of finding it, until you stumble into an old cave with a scroll on a pedestal. These random event nodes are a bit dangerous, as they can also include enemies, so make sure you’re healthy and have the start of a deck before you go hunting.
Selecting Nab the Map places the Spoils Map in your deck, a true dead draw that is Unplayable. As it says though, you’ll net a cool 600 gold if you manage to carry it into Act 2, so get climbing! The next step of the hunt takes place once you beat the Act 1 boss!
Finding the Treasure

Once you arrive in the next Act, the Treasure’s node will be marked with a red X on the map! The Treasure node will come with all the normal rewards, alongside the 600 Gold payout once you arrive.
Every route should collapse onto the node with treasure, so play safe, play fast, and you’ll hit your prize before you know it. The routes seem to have an increased chance for random event nodes, and with how dangerous fights in Act 2 are, make sure you’re healthy and ready for the voyage.
That’s a pretty chunk of change, so make sure to hit a shop soon after. Multiple enemies in the second Act can steal gold as a bonus effect, and it’d feel awful to get poached after putting the work in.
