How To Solve The Rotating Cube Puzzle In Silent Hill 2 Remake
The Cube in the center controls four places for us to visit and explore. The first one is called the Rotten Area, Desolate Area, Ruined Area, and lastly the room for the collectible.
The Cube has four angles to turn, it needs to be moved in a proper order to unlock all the places mentioned above. Every time you finish the area, the cube will rotate back to its original position, where the sign on the cube will always be at the Triangle with a Cross on the Top.
Every solution in the guide will start from the cube with the “Triangle with a Cross on the Top” facing at us, at the camera. Each room here has its own sign we need to match the same sign on the cube facing at us to unlock the pathway.
- Rotten Area – Triangle with Upside Down Cross
- Desolate Area – Infinite Symbol with two Crosses on the Top
- Ruined Area – Pointed Down Triangle with Crosses at the Bottom
- Optional Area – No Signs
Once the Cube shows the sign of each of the rooms, you can take the staircase inside the building to get to the unlocked room. Let’s go through all the four solutions one by one.
#1 Solution To Open The Rotten Area
You will find the door to the Rotten Area, top left at the wall left of the cube.
Solution:
- Turn the Cube Left x1
- Then Flip it to the right x1
- Lastly, Turn it again to the Left x1
You will see the Triangle with the Upside Cross logo on both sides of the cube. This will create a bridge to the door on our left to get to the Rotten Area.
#2 Solution To Open Desolate Area
Point your camera to the right of the cube, through the small gap, that’s our way to reach the Desolate Area.
Solution:
- Turn the Cube Left x1
- Then Flip it to the right x1
- Turn it again to the Left x1, this will make the rotten area door open
- Flip it Upwards x2
The doorway to the Desolate Area is now open. Take the doorway to reach the Desolate Area on the right of the cube.
#3 Solution To Open Ruined Area
We can see the Ruined area’s sign through the small corner right of the cube.
Solution:
- Turn the Cube Left x2
- Move it Downward x2
Finally, take the doorway to the left to get to the Ruined Area.
#4 Solution Optional Collectible “Your Best Buddy“
It has no logo on it, basically a secret. Here’s how you can unlock it.
Solution:
Just flip it twice, downwards.
And that’s it, go inside the doorway to the left. Take the stairs down, and you will find a picture right next to the stairs on the ground. It is a picture titled “Your Best Buddy“.
