Paving down proper road infrastructure to connect various locations is one of the primary tasks in RoadCraft. You get to bring out different equipment to help you out with that, but sometimes, there could be a change in plans. While your vehicles are on the road, you might receive a message that some routes will require maintenance. Roads can be affected by wear and tear, so this guide will detail how to fix that in RoadCraft.
Fix Road Needs Maintenance in RoadCraft

You can easily identify which route requires maintenance by heading into the Infrastructure tab of the game’s build menu. You will occasionally receive notifications that your vehicles are stuck due to road damage, and the cases for damaged roads could be due to improper placement, structural damage, or general wear and tear. This can also happen if you have set your vehicles to run automatically on a route. The ‘Route Failed’ message will appear on the top left corner.
In the Infrastructure tab, you will notice a Needs Maintenance section on the left side. Select that option, and you will be automatically taken to the section that requires repairs. Click on the route points to figure out whether you need to delete, add, or edit the route. There are a few different options to pick, and we will explain what each of them does.
- Adding points will tighten the route passage so vehicles don’t accidentally go off-road. You can keep adding extra points on any existing road to help vehicles stay on track.
- Selecting existing points can help you move or adjust them through the Edit Point option. This can help you modify the road’s pathways in case they run through any obstacles.
- Points can also be deleted if you don’t require them, but it can make the path more unstable. Deleting points is a requirement if you don’t wish to use that path anymore.
- If you think that the route you had established is not good enough, you can also find a Clear Route option. This will completely demolish your existing route, and you can either build over it properly or try another route entirely.
- Finally, you can cancel the entire route if you don’t require the vehicle to run through it anymore.
Once you have figured out and rectified the problem, you can then send your vehicle out to see if they use the newly modified road. Use the Spectate option to see how they run, and if you notice more issues, then you might need to go over and fix the road again.
