Retro Rewind puts the focus on movie rentals as the core of your business, but you’re going to start accumulating more movies than you have room for on your shelves. Plus, you’ll likely have multiple copies of the same movie at various points. That’s where the clearance bin becomes useful.
You aren’t going to make a lot of money from the clearance bin, but it’s a great way to make room for new movies by selling movies that might not be rented as often anymore.
Unlocking the Clearance Bin in Retro Rewind

In order to purchase the clearance bin, you have to reach Level 10. Then, you can use the catalogue in your office and look under “Equipment” to find the clearance bin available for $200. When you purchase it, it arrives at the back of the store, next to the movie delivery station.
The bin itself is larger than it seems like it would be in the catalogue image, so you need to set aside some room to place it in your shop. From there, you can use it to sell movies to customers, meaning that you won’t be receiving that movie in the returns again and have a bit more space for other movies.
Using the Clearance Bin

Once you have the bin placed, you can put movies in it to sell by gathering the movies you don’t want anymore in your hands. Then, go to the bin and start placing the movies in it the same way you place movies on shelves. For each movie, you’ll see the clearance price appear as a sticker on the corner of the movie’s case.
Movies in the bin are sold for half their market value. You can’t change this price. However, if you decide to keep the movie as a rental instead because the price is too low, you can pick it up from the bin and put it back on a shelf, removing it from being on sale.
The clearance bin isn’t going to make you a lot of money in Retro Rewind, but you can profit from it in unexpected ways. As an example, you’ll sometimes receive calls on your office phone with somebody on the other line offering to basically donate a bunch of movies to you. From there, you could put them up for rental or sell them on clearance, and you profit either way.
Beyond that, movies purchased from the bin go through the same process as rentals. Customers will bring them to the register, you ring up the transaction, go through with accepting payment and making change, then turn your attention to your next customer in Retro Rewind.
