Wild Zones are some of the coolest places to check out in Pokémon Legends Z-A, each packed with different wild Pokémon waiting to be caught. Wild Zone 4 opens up a bit later in the story, and it’s definitely worth exploring once you unlock it.
You’ll come across a bunch of unique Pokémon here that show up at different times of the day. There are also Alpha Pokémon wandering around, plus a few hidden items you can pick up while exploring.
Pokémon Legends Z-A: All Wild Zone 4 Pokémon

- Ekans
- Gastly
- Spinarak
- Spewpa
- Patrat
- Honedge
Some Pokémon appear only during the day, while others show up at night. Spewpa and Ekans can be found during the day, while Patrat and Honedge only spawn at night. Gastly and Spinarak appear both day and night.
If you’re still getting the hang of fights here, it’s worth understanding the game’s battle system. It helps you understand how turn order, moves, and effects work, which makes battles a lot easier to handle.
Ekans Location

You can find Ekans in the southeastern part of Wild Zone 4. Once you enter the zone, turn right and follow the path until you see a few tombstones. Ekans usually slithers near one of these tombstones, making it pretty easy to spot during the day.
Since it’s a daytime spawn, head here early in the day cycle if you’re trying to catch one. It’s a good chance to expand your Poison-type lineup before taking on tougher missions.
Gastly Location

Gastly is one of the first Pokémon you’ll run into in Wild Zone 4. It spawns right near the entrance of the zone, floating around the open area just as you walk in.
It’s available during both day and night, so you don’t need to worry about timing your visit. Keep an eye out, though; Gastly can move around quickly and sometimes drift behind the structures near the gate.
Spinarak Location

Spinarak are small Bug-type Pokémon that like to hang out on walls. From the entrance of Wild Zone 4, head straight ahead until you reach the tomb-like structures in the center of the area. You’ll usually spot a Spinarak crawling on one of the walls.
It’s easy to miss if you’re moving too fast, so take a moment to look closely at the structures. If you’re using a Fire-type like Fennekin, this is a great spot to train since Fire moves deal extra damage to Bug-types like Spinarak.
Spewpa Location

To find Spewpa, head to the western side of Wild Zone 4. When you enter, take a left turn and follow the path until you reach a few trees. You’ll usually find Spewpa near the base of the trees, blending in with the environment.
This Pokémon only spawns during the day, so visit this area before sunset. It’s a good catch for players looking to evolve it into Vivillon later in the game.
Patrat Location

Patrat only appears at night, and you’ll find it in almost the same area where Spewpa spawns, on the western side of the zone. After entering, turn left and head toward the same cluster of trees.
At night, you’ll notice Patrat moving around in the same area Spewpa occupies during the day. Make sure you switch your in-game clock or wait until night to spot it.
Honedge Location

Honedge is another Pokémon that only spawns at night. From the entrance, head straight ahead into the zone. After walking a short distance, you’ll find it hovering near a few tombstones.
Honedge is easy to identify thanks to its sword-like appearance and eerie glow in the dark. It’s a great addition to your team if you’re looking for a strong Ghost- or Steel-type Pokémon early on.
Alpha Pokémon in Wild Zone 4

If you want a bit more of a challenge, Wild Zone 4 also has a couple of Alpha Pokémon. Both are around Level 21, so they’re stronger than the regular ones you’ll see here. You can find an Alpha Gastly during the day, while the Alpha Spinarak appears during both day and night. Both can be found at the same locations as their normal counterparts.
These Alpha Pokémon hit harder and take more damage, so be sure to come prepared. They’re totally worth catching for their higher stats and unique move sets, especially if you’re building a strong early-game team.
How to Unlock Wild Zone 4

You’ll unlock Wild Zone 4 once you reach Main Mission 6 in the story. After that, you can find it inside the Dormez Bien Cemetery, located in the Rogue Sector.
It unlocks naturally as you play, so there’s no need to grind side quests or extra missions to get there. Once it opens up, you can explore the area right away and start catching everything you see.
All Wild Zone 4 TMs

There’s also a handy TM you can grab here, TM072: Fire Spin. You’ll find it near the southern wall of Wild Zone 4, behind a building. To reach it, use a Fire-type move to burn away the thorns that block your path.
Once the thorns are gone, you can pick up the TM from the ground. It’s one of the earlier Fire-type TMs you’ll get in the game, so it’s a solid move to grab early on.
Wild Zone 4 is one of the earlier areas you’ll explore in Pokémon Legends Z-A, and it’s a pretty chill spot overall. The layout is simple, so you won’t get lost easily, and there’s a nice mix of Pokémon to keep things interesting.
There might not be tons of items here besides the Fire Spin TM, but it’s still worth coming back at different times of the day to catch everything. It’s also a great place to level up your team before heading into tougher parts of Lumiose City in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
