In the Tides of Terraria update, players can now recruit allies to aid them in their journey. Zoe & Grizzbolt are one of the most sought-after additions to a player’s team. This guide will walk you through every step to unlock Zoe as your ally, from proving your worth to completing her personal questline and ultimately adding her to your team.
Starting The Quest
To start the quest, find Zoe at the Desolate Church. Start the dialogue with her, and she’ll tell us about how we have to capture a Grizzbolt to earn her credit. She also gives a clue about the whereabouts of the Grizzbolt, mentioning the No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary. Once the conversation is over, the quest ‘Don’t Get Cocky’ will initialize.
If you have a Grizzbolt, just equip it and get back to Zoe. Once you’re there, summon the Grizzbolt and talk to Zoe. If you don’t have a Grizzbolt, just go to the aforementioned No.1 Wildlife Sanctuary and capture one. Once that mission is complete, talk to her again.
This will initiate another mission called ‘I Still Don’t Trust You’. For this mission, we’ll have to capture or defeat 5 Free Pal Alliance members. Fast travel to the Ancient Ritual Site, a bit northwest of Desolate Church, and head to the Sealed Realm of Spirits. The Free Pal Alliance members often spawn there, so once you’ve defeated 5 of them, head back to Zoe at the Desolate Church to complete the quest. Talk to her again to start the final mission called ‘A Warm Memory’.
Our last mission is to find Zoe’s Tattered Memento at the ruins. Fast travel to Fort Ruins, where the tracker for the new mission will be. Follow the tracker and pick up the tattered memento from the ground and bring it back to Zoe. Once you give her the memento, she’ll thank you and ask if she can be a part of your journey.
There won’t be any prompt for you to decline or accept, so just head back to your Palbox and you’ll find Zoe & Grizzbolt already there!
