Palworld – How to Get the Wing Pack

Palworld’s 1.0 release has added a myriad of new tech, capping off with the Ancient Tech tree’s Wing Pack. The Wing Pack is an amazing tool, granting full flight while equipped, as long as you’ve got the fuel to power it.

Let’s go over how to get the Wing Pack, including its unlock level, the resources required, and how it’s used!

Unlocking the Wing Pack from the Tech Tree

You unlock the Wing Pack at Tech level 80 at the very bottom of the Ancient Technology tab in the tech tree. Once you unlock this, you will then need the following resources to craft one:

    • 30 Paldium Fragments
    • 6 Paloxite Ingots
    • 20 AI Cores
    • 20 Thermal Cores, and
    • 10 Ancient Civilization Cores.

As befitting it’s endgame stature, the requirements for the Wing Pack do require some dedicated resource collection and farming. Let’s start looking at the best places to get each of these, but first, starting with Ancient Tech Points.

How To Level Up Tech & Get Ancient Tech Points

The easiest ways to level up come from catching 5 of each Pal, filling out the whole map, things Palworld offers up right out of the gate. These will net you large sums of XP, entire levels early on, and will steadily grow more lucrative as the levels of the areas and Pals you encounter grow.

Otherwise, beating field bosses, surviving raids, and clearing quests can net large chunks of XP even into the late game. Alongside levels, you’ll need Ancient Tech Points. Unlike normal Tech Points, you don’t gain any on level up, instead only netting them for first time clears of certain content.

Every Tower you beat the first time grants you 5, while killing or capturing field bosses, be they Pals or humans, will earn you 1 point each. Once you amass enough, nab it from the menu to get started.

Alongside the Wing Pack itself, make sure you unlock the Wing Cell from the standard Tech Tree, as the Wing Pack uses it for fuel.

    Paldium Fragments

    • Gathered from blue-veined Ore across the world, gained from stone via the Crusher

Paldium Fragments are the basis of most major tech from the very start of Palworld. You can gather them from the small blue-veined ore deposits found all over the starting area, but there’s a far more efficient method.

Once you have the Crusher unlocked, you can use it to break down mass amounts of Stone into Paldium Fragments! Make sure you have a Pal with Watering affinity, like a Penking, to work the Crusher and keep it efficient.

    Paloxite Ingots

You craft a Paloxite Ingot with the following resources:

    • 1 Soralite
    • 2 Paloxite
    • 1 World Tree Holy Water

Paloxite Ingots are the final refined metal in the game, requiring Paloxite, Soralite, and World Tree Holy Water for each ingot. You’ll need 1 Soralite for each Ingot, so make sure you’ve been making runs to Sunreach to keep up your supply.

You’ll also, obviously, need Paloxite from the World Tree. This Ore can only be gathered while under the effect of World Tree Holy Water. Make sure to grab extra by wandering the World Tree and defeating Pals, otherwise the Ingot refining process will cut through your supply.

    AI Core

You craft an AI Core with the following resources:

    • 5 Computer
    • 10 Soralite Ingots
    • 2 Thermal Cores
    • 1 Ancient Civilization Core

Moving over to the Advanced Workbench, AI Cores will need quite a few technological components. Gather some Computers and Thermal Cores from the Advanced Workbench, and put together 10 Soralite Ingots.

To finish it off, each will require 1 Ancient Civilization Core. These are difficult to gather drops that only come from certain high-end activities. Your options include Pal raids, looting from Oil Rig chests, or our choice, high level expeditions.

    Thermal Core

You craft a Thermal Core with the following resources:

    • 4 Flame Organ
    • 8 Coal
    • 2 Corrosive Solvent
    • 2 Hexolite

Acting as the power source, Thermal Cores need to be crafted at the Production Assembly Line 2. Combine some Flame Organs from fire element Pals, Coal, some Corrosive Solvent, and Hexolite to put it together.

Through the Assembly Line, you can make a mass amount of Thermal Cores once you gather the comparatively cheap components. A fairly easy part to put together.

    Ancient Civilization Cores

    • Random Drops from Oil Rigs, Expeditions, World Bosses

You’ll need 10 Ancient Civilization Cores to finish the Wing Pack, which is why I recommended setting up a surplus early. Otherwise, just run expeditions off cooldown to finish up our final tech.

Once you have an army of Pals, sending them out on expeditions on loop is your best and most efficient bet, even if this is still a bit slow. Once you start earning them, make sure you’re sending a team whenever possible so you can build up a surplus.

    Wing Cells

You craft Wing Cells with the following resources:

    • 10 Mythical Wood
    • 20 Crude Oil

Sadly, the Wing Pack doesn’t give unlimited flight. You’ll need to chew through Wing Cells, made with Mythical Wood and Crude Oil. You’ll need to make a whole lot, as the Wing pack devours Cells at a very quick rate.

Luckily, even without Cells, the Wing Pack will function as a glider if you start to fall. Just don’t get rid of your standard high-level glider, just in case you run out of gas!
