Palworld 1.0 – How To Get Mutated Eggs And What They Do

Mutated Eggs are an endgame mechanic to breed a mutated Pal, which is a lot like a regular Pal, only far more powerful. Hatching a Pal from a Mutated Egg in Palworld essentially skips the grind and let’s you field an endgame-level Pal from the moment they burst out of the shell.

Due to them being powerful endgame items, Mutated Eggs are elusive and hard to come by, but there are some strategies to improve your chances of obtaining them. Below, we’ll cover everything there is to know about getting Mutated Eggs in Palworld, and any other information we feel will help you on your quest for overpowered, mutated Pals.

Best methods to obtain Mutated Eggs

One of the best ways to get Mutated Eggs in Palworld is by eating Extravagant Vegetable Cake. Pals who eat it will have a 2%-3% increased chance of dropping Mutated Eggs instead of regular eggs. Of course, the cake method works on a range of different eggs, but when it comes to Mutated Eggs, Extravagant Vegetable Cake is the one to use.

You’ll need an Ancient Kitchen to craft Extravagant Vegetable Cake, once you’re ready, use the following recipe:

    • Flour x12
    • Cotton Candy x8
    • Potato x10
    • Onion x6
    • Carrot x8

Once you’ve crafted the cakes, drop them off in the feeding box at the Breeding Pen for your chosen Pals to eat them.

You can also accelerate your chances of spawning a Mutated Egg by using the Ancient Hatchery. Choose the two Pals that you want to breed, load them with Extravagant Vegetable Cake, and send them through the Ancient Hatchery.

This automatically awards 10x eggs, but doing this with Pals who are full of Extravagant Vegetable Cake will increase your chances of them dropping Mutated Eggs. We found we often got at least 1 per breeding cycle.

So by using a combination of Extravagant Vegetable Cake and the Ancient Hatchery, Mutated Eggs can become a relatively common drop. Of course, you need to already be in endgame to do this.

    Benefits of Mutated Pals

Pals who hatch from Mutated Eggs aren’t just immensely powerful; they’ll also be granted Alpha Status that makes them a larger and stronger version of their species.

They’ll also have perfect stats and will almost always roll with 90-100 IVs, making them essentially fully trained, with you needing to do minimal grinding.

Finally, Mutated Pals will hatch with a special mutation trail that works as a passive skill. Mutated Pals can have up to four of these passives, which are exclusive to Pals who came from Mutated Eggs.

These passive skills are as follows:

    Trait NameBuffs / Effects
Immortality+5% Life Steal, +100% Pal Auto Health Regen
Idiosyncratic+50% Player & Pal Auto Health Regen, +25% Defense, Immune to Poison and Burn
Sky MarcherHighly beneficial mobility or combat passive
BabysitterEnhances base or breeding farm functionality
RanchmasterIncreases farming work suitability by +2
Lavish Hospitality+100% item drop rate when the Pal is summoned while defeating or butchering enemies

If you’re jumping into Palworld 1.0 and looking to spawn some powerful monsters, here are the best base Pals, even if they’re not from Mutated Eggs.
