Kilima Village is all decked up for the holidays, and Zeki’s Winterfest challenge has made a return in Palia. After receiving the treasure hunt letter in my mailbox again this year, I couldn’t resist setting off to find all 7 hidden Winterlight chests. A few clues clicked the moment I read them, but others sent me wandering in circles.
After a fair bit of backtracking, re-reading hints, and poking around the snowy corners of Kilima, I finally uncovered every chest for this year’s challenge. This guide will detail where to locate all treasure chests for the Winterfest challenge in Palia.
Zeki’s Winterfest Challenge Guide in Palia
This year sees a return of Zeki’s challenge, where you are tasked once again to locate all 7 chests within the new Winterlights update. Unlike the previous year, this year, the chest location clues are different. Once you have collected all 7 chests, return to Zeki’s store and exchange them for new crafting recipes. You also get to claim all last year’s recipes this way, too, in case you missed the event.
To start the challenge, after updating the game, look for a letter from Zeki in your mailbox. You can also start the challenge by interacting with the blue book inside his store. Read the letter or book to find clues about the chest’s whereabouts. You don’t have to follow the clue order to locate all 7 chests. Now, let’s get down to locating each chest around Kilima.
Chest Location #1
In the northwestern section of the village, head over to the Tavern (E7). Just west of the Tavern, go down the wooden stairs to find a water tower. Investigate the area behind the water tower to find the first chest.
Chest Location #2
Next, make your way to the City Hall (F7) and head up the stairs on your right. Enter the first room on your left and investigate the shelf on the right to find the chest.
Chest Location #3
Just south of the City Hall is a gazebo, east of the Central Stables fast travel point. Head inside the gazebo and investigate the pile of snow to collect the third chest.
Chest Location #4
Make your way to Mirror Pond Ruins (D3) for this one. In the northeastern area of the pond, you will find a pillar leaning against a tree. The only way to get this chest is to climb up the pillar and glide across.
Chest Location #5
You will find the fifth chest near Hekla’s Tent (F5), south of Mirror Pond Ruins. Walk around the back of the tent and check the bushes to find the chest.
Chest Location #6
Head over to Phoenix Falls (F4) and walk over to the bridge here. Make your way across the left side ledge of the bridge and hop down onto the rocks on the other side to find the sixth chest.
Chest Location #7
The last chest to collect for the challenge is located at Daiya Family Farm (E8). Enter the barn through the eastern entrance, which will take you to the Ormuu pen. Inside the pen, check out the shed to collect the chest.
