In the Food for Thought quest in Palia, our friend Jel is overworked and doesn’t have any time to eat. We take it upon ourselves to discover his favorite foods and prepare a meal that keeps him healthy and energized. This guide will walk you through each step of the quest to ensure Jel gets the nourishment he needs.

To get started with your quest, speak with Reth. He’ll tell you that he’s worried about Jel, who hasn’t eaten anything as he’s been working. After talking with Reth, speak with Jel. He’ll tell you that he’ll only eat once his work is done. Our next task is to find out what Jel likes to eat.

Speak with Tish, and you’ll come to know that he liked tofu, but overate it and no longer wants it. Head over to Jel’s house and you’ll find a Dream Journal near the entrance, on a couch. Read the journal and you’ll find out he’s craving something along the lines of orange liquid, spices and pumpkin-y flesh. Talk to Reth again and choose either Pumpkin Soup or Soon Tofu. You can choose either based on the ingredients you have in your inventory.

If you choose the Pumpkin Soup, you’ll need to gather 5 pumpkins. Whereas if you choose the Soon Tofu, you’ll need 5 Batterfly beans. Once you have your ingredients, head back to Reth and select the prompt ‘Here’s your ingredients’. After your conversation is over, go back to Jel, and Reth will appear.
Keep in mind, even though it was previously mentioned that Jel no longer wants tofu, he’ll accept it if you do go with the Soon Tofu option. Once the conversation is over, the quest will be completed, and you’ll get some gold and whatever you made for Jel as a reward.
