While Mouse: P.I. For Hire is mainly about solving cases and gunning down criminals, there is a decent amount of side content to keep players busy. One of the more engaging pieces of side content is Baseball Cards, a minigame that can be played in town.
While the game explains how to play Baseball Cards, it’s not so simple to fully understand. Mastering the game’s rules can be challenging, and for the first couple hours of playing, you will most likely lose every round.
However, after reading this guide, you will significantly increase your chances of winning. Here’s how to win at Baseball Cards in Mouse: P.I. For Hire.
How to Play as Batter

The main objective as the Batter in Baseball Cards in Mouse: P.I. For Hire is to score as many runs as possible during each round. To do this, you need to play cards that have a higher number then the Pitcher.
In order to ensure that you draw a Batter card that has a higher number than the Pitcher, you want to combine high number Batters with high number Tactics cards. Tactic cards raise the default number of the Batter card, increasing your chances of getting a hit.
For example, if you play a Batter card with a 6 along with a Power Swing Tactics Card of 3, you will increase your Batter to 9.
You also want to keep in mind the speed of each Batter card that you draw. The speed stat, shown as a foot with a wing on the card, represents how many bases it will cover on each hit. You can raise the speed stat with Speed Boost Tactics Cards.
Since you can only use one Tactics Card during each play, I recommend focusing on using Power Swings over Speed Boosts if you have both in hand. Remember, having a high speed stat will not result in getting a hit, but your hitting stat does, so that is more important.
How to Play as Pitcher

After completing a round as a Batter during Baseball Cards in Mouse: P.I. For Hire, you will switch sides and play as the Pitcher. The same rules apply to Pitchers, but it involves different Tactics Cards.
The main goal here is the same as the Batter – you want to play a higher number card than your opponent. To increase your chances of beating your opponent’s number, you can pair a high numbered Pitcher card with a high number Pitching Focus Tactics Card.
Keep in mind that Pitcher cards also have a Fielding Play stat, represented by an eyeball below the initial Pitching stat. Fielding Play indicates the chances it has to slow down a runner currently on the bases.
Having a higher Fielding Play stat than the Speed of the opponent will result in the runner being stopped in its tracks completely, preventing it from advancing around the bases. You can increase your Fielding Play number by pairing Pitcher cards with Fielding Play Tactic Cards.
Keep in mind that if the Batter draws a card that has a much higher number than your Pitcher, then your opponent will get a home run. You don’t want this to happen, so always play high numbered cards.
How to Get New Baseball Cards

There are two ways to get new baseball cards in Mouse: P.I. For Hire. For starters, players will earn baseball cards as they complete main and side missions in the game. After you find a baseball card, it is instantly added to your deck.
Another and quicker way to get baseball cards in Mouse: P.I. For Hire is by purchasing them from the Soup to Nuts gun shop in town. This shop has Tactics, Batter, and Pitcher Cards.
Keep in mind that the cards at the Soup to Nuts shop is fairly expensive, so you may have to save up. Some cards run for 500 Coins, while others can cost 1,000.
