As you explore the Vessel, you’ll see the robots inhabiting it talk when you walk by. After unlocking Haven, you’ll find Celia standing by Gloomwater, splitting Haven and Promenade, wondering where Alice went. It turns out that Alice has been knocked offline, but you can fix that.

Getting to Alice
So, you can’t get to Alice until a bit later. I tried to get across to her right away, but you’ll just die in the Gloomwater. Instead, you need to turn back for now and continue progressing.
Specifically, you need to get to the section of the Bell Tower where the Celestial Bell is. There’s a tube that you use to interact with Samsk there, and this gives you the Glide ability.

Once you have the Glide ability, you can return to Haven and cross the Gloomwater where Celia is standing, opening up more of the map.
Alice’s Location

Alice can be hard to spot because the area is dark and you can only see her rusted box of a head on the ground. I like having the Overseer’s location as a marker to tell where to go.
While the Overseer won’t be present yet as you find them later, go past the spot they would be. On the other side of a bridge, you’ll find a spot with bouncy leaves and crystals you can grab.

You can go through the left or right path’s platforming section and still come across Alice. Once you find her, choose the option to reboot her.
Then, you’ll be able to find her reunited with Celia on a swing after you progress some more, which is a cute reward.
But, alongside this, you’ll also gain the Bird of Prey Mod, which allows you to gain a short damage boost after using Sail.
I find that seeing your choices impact the world makes them more worthwhile, so I’m glad MIO: Memories In Orbit updates the world as you make progress.
