Metaphor ReFantazio features amazing bosses, missing out on any one of them is something that you don’t want to do. Many of the boss encounters are behind side quests, completing them gives you tons of Reeve and many other rewards that will be very helpful in your journey. The early section of Metaphor ReFantazio has plenty of side quests, each one is different than the last, also many of them feature a giant boss at the end to ruin your day. Here’s a guide to completing the Bullish Embargo side quest and defeating Grotesque Guptauros boss in Metaphor ReFantazio.

    A Bullish Embargo Quest Overview

Here is a brief quest overview before you start thinking about taking it. from Brigitta.

    Rank: 2.5
    Virtue Requirement: Wisdom 2
    Level Requirement: 13 to 15+
    Start Date: 6/12
    Deadline: None
    Boss Fight: Grotesque Guptauros
    Location: Grand Trad, Sunlumeo Street

As you can see we need our wisdom level up to 2. Before doing the quest you can just raise the wisdom by sitting on a bench. But we highly recommend you complete the Help the Hushed Honeybee side quest to get your wisdom level up and get some money for your travel. Once your Wisdom level is up to 2, then you can kick off the quest by talking to Brigitta.

    • Head to Sunlumeo Street, and you will find Brigitta outside of her shop. Start talking to her and she will give you an Extermination mission. If your wisdom level is not at 2, she will refuse to hand the quest to you. So do the Helped the Hushed Honeybee side quest then come over to tackle the Bullish Embargo quest from Brigitta.
    • Our first objective on the line is to head to Belega Corridor to defeat a monster called Grotesque Guptauros. If you are under level, then you should take on as many side quests as you can to get the level up, or once you get to Belega Corridor, defeat as many enemies as you can to grind to a higher level.

Note: One of the best things about this quest just like the Helped the Hushed Honeybee, it doesn’t have any deadline. This means you can tackle the quest right away or after grinding to Level 10 or 15. The choice is in your hands when you want to do the entire quest.

    • While we can head to the quest area right away we can also talk around and find the intel on the area and the boss that we are about to face soon.
    • Brigitta will recommend visiting the informant in Hushed Honeybee to gain some intel on the mission. When you get to the informant, he will give you the information but in exchange for 250 Reeve, it’s not cheap. Thank god the guide covers everything the informant has to say for free.

Best Team Composition For A Bullish Embargo Quest

Mage and Cleric are not a good choice for the quest, as they will make the Monster go berserk on sight. If you like some challenge, certainly you can fill up the group with them. But the powerful AOE moves are not going to go over well with all the party members.

    Characters to Choose:

Protagonist (Seeker)+ Strohl (Warrior) + Hulkenberg (Knight). A perfect combo for the boss in the Belega Corridor.

Best Attacks to choose for each Archetype:

    Cyc & Dei for Seeker
    Jump Thrust for Knight
Slicer, Slash Boost, and Diagonal Slash for Warrior

Warrior or Knight class will be perfect for the quest. Make sure to have some decent equipment on them and restoration items available if things do turn south. We recommend you stockpile some health items because you are not going to find any conveniently placed vendors or shops in the dungeon. Monsters as far as the eye can see, so prepare before heading out.

If you are under-leveled, Belega Corridor is a perfect place to farm experience points. All the floors in the areas have some varieties of enemies that will give you a good chunk of XP after defeat.

    Belega Corridor First Floor
On the first floor turn right and you will find Scintillating Marble. Here you will also find Balm of Life in a chest.

    Belega Corridor Second Floor
Here we will talk to an NPC who will give us the details about the weakness of Goborns to Poison and Paralysis. And will hand us three Stunning Arrows for us to use.

    Belega Corridor Third Floor

We recommend you explore the third floor as much as possible, there are way too many items in the area that will be incredibly helpful in your journey.

Tip: If you just want to get to the boss first, you can, after defeating the boss, you can come back to clear the treasures in the area.

Armour: Damascus Vest in a chest upstairs on the right staircase on the third floor. You will also find:

    • WItch’s Earring
    • Guard’s Chausses
    • Imp-Ending Pike Knight Weapon
    • Aquamarine
    • Magia Pill
    • Gold Beetle Key
    • Blessed Water
    • Great Fairy Dust

    Belega Corridor Fourth floor:
You will find Scintillating Marble on the fourth floor, other than that, the fourth floor just serves as a safe area before we face the boss. Once you are ready go through the door at the north to enter the boss room.

How To Defeat Grotesque Guptauros In Metaphor: ReFantazio

    Level: 22
    Weakness: Pierce Damage, and Ice
    Resistance: Fire
    Damage Deals: Physical Strikes.

    Combat Abilities:
    Frenzy: Physical damage to everyone.
Slam Shatter: Physical attack on all party members.
Powerful Pulverizer, Heavy Rush, and Common Attack: Deals damage to only single-party members.

    Tips to defeat Grotesque Guptauros:

    • Always rely on the Jump Thrust Ability of Knight to deal an incredible amount of damage on Grotesque Guptauros. On Warrior, use the Slash attacks, the physical attacks will number on him.
    • Use the Dei ability to heal your party or use the items.
    • Use Blizz to exploit the Ice elemental weakness of Grotesque Guptauros.
    • Raise your Guard when you see Grotesque Guptauros charging, you must move to the back row to survive.
    • It will be worthwhile to pass a turn to allow Hulkenberg perform the Synthesis Jump Thrust. Also, buff Hulkenberg with the protagonists’ Tarukaja skill.
    • Cannot stress enough to keep the party healed up at all times. The high physical damage of the Guptauros means that one strong attack and your party will be history.
    • If you are able to level up the Healer and inherit the Medi skill at level 3, it will be super helpful since it heals up all allies in one turn.

Note: If things are getting hard, lower the difficulty or you can always retry and grind before facing the boss again. It would be better if you came back to the Grotesque Guptauros after level 13 or 15 for a smooth fight.

After you defeat the Grotesque Guptauros, you can always go back and take out any treasure you have probably left behind in the Belega Corridor, or you can just leave.

Here head back to Sunlumeo Street, and speak to Brigitta again to complete the A Bullish Embargo Quest. She will not leave us empty-handed for what she put us through, we will get some good reward out of it.
