Menace – How to Modify and Repair Vehicles

Having vehicles deployed during missions in Menace can make a huge difference to how difficult the mission ends up being. However, you can also modify vehicles with weapons and accessories that make them more powerful or give them more utility.

Unfortunately, the mechanics of how you modify vehicles in Menace isn’t explained well when you start the game. On top of that, the mods that you have access to are random due to the game’s procedurally generated design. That means that you might have a tough time getting your vehicles set up in a way you want.

The most reliable method of getting weapons and accessories that you can use to modify your vehicles is through the blackmarket. Between missions, you have an option to visit the blackmarket trader. While his stock is randomized like everything else in the game, he generally has at least a few items related to vehicles that you can grab.

The vehicle you have when you start the game should have a weapon available that you can add to it. However, you won’t have any other mods beyond that. So, if you want the mods that are overpowered, such as the flamethrower, you’ll need to get them throughout your missions.

You’ll pick up items, including weapons and accessories, through completing missions. The problem is that this can be random, and if you’re fighting aliens instead of pirates, you’re unlikely to get loot that isn’t alien parts.

Menace – How To Modify Vehicles

To actually modify vehicles, you need a pilot available who can use the vehicles. If you don’t have a pilot, you’ll have to buy a Pilot Dossier from the blackmarket. Then, when you’re in the menu to prepare for a mission, add the vehicle to the pilot’s loadout.

Once you have a vehicle equipped to a pilot, you can add weapons to the two large rectangles, which add the weapons to that vehicle. Then, there are two smaller boxes at the bottom that are for vehicle accessories.

Like most loadout features, modifications can only be done between missions. Once you start the mission, you have to deal with what you have selected, as it can’t be changed. With that, you’ll have modified your vehicle in Menace.

Menace – How to Repair Vehicles

Unfortunately, you can’t repair vehicles when you start a game in Menace. If you go to the O.C.I. menu, you’ll see that you only start with a medical bay as part of your ship. To repair vehicles, you have to pick one of the empty hull slots and place a repair bay there. Naturally, you’ll have to do some missions to get the resources you need to build the repair bay.

When you have a repair bay, you can repair vehicles between missions. Since each repair only restores 30% of vehicle HP and removes 1 defect at a time, you’ll have to go through multiple missions while repairing your vehicle in between them before it’s back in top shape. Then, you can send it back out for another mission in Menace.
