Marvel Tokon – All Secret Commands for Deadpool

Marvel Tokon has a good number of secrets left to find, but I’ve managed to put together one, all secret commands for Deadpool hidden through the move list! Want to truly finalize your command list and nab a sweet little achievement on the way? Then continue on, dear reader, as I show you everything the Merc with the Mouth has to offer!

    What Are Secret Commands?

As hinted by the Achievement “Deadpool saves the Tokon Universe!”, Deadpool has several secret special moves not featured on the command list. In order to fill them out, you need to perform them first in any mode of your choosing.

Naturally, Training Mode is the easiest spot to snag these, especially since a few of the inputs can take a couple of tries. Let’s go over them one by one!

    Sexy Centerfold

The most ‘clearly a joke’ of the secret commands for Deadpool, Sexy Centerfold, is activated by inputting down 5 times rapidly. That’s right, just teabag fast enough, and Deadpool will strike Jack-O’s provocative crouching stance from the Guilty Gear series.

That’s it. The move can’t be canceled, has no properties, and while Deadpool strikes a very low pose, it isn’t low enough to be used to low profile. Again, you can’t even use Assists while in the pose, so this one is firmly in bit territory.

    Healing Agura

Taking a note from Tekken (and Soulcalibur)’s Yoshimitsu, inputting down 5 times while hitting Heavy and Unique will have Deadpool drop to the ground before taking up the Agura Stance. During this lengthy animation, Deadpool converts his Healing Gauge into proper HP via the Vital Gauge.

Amidst all secret commands for Deadpool, this is the one that feels the most like wasted potential. While having the option to recover your Healing Gauge sounds great, being stuck in the animation leaves him a sitting duck. You may be able to sneak it in after landing a long-range hard knockdown, but it just isn’t practical. Of course, what about Deadpool is?

    Fever Dream: Ranbu

The last three secret inputs all utilize classic fighting game inputs and supers to open up a sillier version of Deadpool’s Super. The first is Fever Dream: Ranbu…

    • On PlayStation, input quarter-circle forward + Circle and Square simultaneously.
    • On Xbox, input quarter-circle forward + B and X simultaneously.
    • On PC, input quarter-circle forward + K and I simultaneously.

With this input, Deadpool hops towards the opponent, mimicking Ryo’s super from Art of Fighting. On contact, you’ll get an even goofier reference spree as Deadpool deals damage. I don’t think I’ll ever be using the base version of Fever Dream.

    Fever Dream: Phoenix

It’s KOF’s turn up to bat for Deadpool’s second Fever Dream variant, Phoenix. While the name might elicit some in-house Marvel assumptions, the animation and description reveal it to be ripped straight from Kim Kaphwan, longtime King of Fighters series mainstay.

This variant’s input asks for a quarter-circle back, diagonal back, and forward stick motion while pressing Medium and Heavy Attack together. While the input looks difficult when written out, simply slide your thumb from a downward input to the left, then back forward. If it helps, think of it like a quarter-circle back half-circle forward input from Guilty Gear.

    • On PlayStation, input quarter-circle back, diagonal back, then forward + Triangle and Circle simultaneously.
    • On Xbox, input quarter-circle back, diagonal back, then forward + Y and B simultaneously.
    • On PC, input quarter-circle back, diagonal back, then forward + I and K simultaneously.

Aside from the animation, this attack functions identically to Fever Dream: Ranbu, simply throwing a bone to fans of SNK’s more prevalent fighting game baby. Seriously, SNK, we got a new GAROU, where is my modern Art of Fighting?!

    Fever Dream: Raging

Finally back in my wheelhouse, Fever Dream: Raging references the Destroyer of the Heavens himself, Akuma from Street Fighter. Complete with the Messatsu float to start the attack, Fever Dream: Raging requires two Light attack inputs, a tap forward, then a Medium and Heavy input.

    • On PlayStation, input Square, Square, tap forward, Triangle, and finish with Circle.
    • On Xbox, input X, X, tap forward, Y, and finish with B.
    • On PC, input U, U, tap forward, I, and finish with K.

Unlock other multi-button supers, these attack commands need to be made in sequence, not all at once. The window is tight, but keep trying, and you’ll get it in no time!

Pro tip: hiding the animation of your inputs during a longer animation is a great way to sneak Raging Demon-style attacks out, and it works just as well for Fever Dream: Raging!

    Not the Only Secrets…
