We all love a boss that keeps coming back for more, don’t we? Well, even if you don’t, Souls games have made it something that we expect and are well-prepared for.
Having faced a corrupted Silver Surfer a handful of times in this stage before the final fight, I thought I was more than ready for him. But, sneakily, the game took away the turrets I had come to rely upon, making this fight a true test.
However, with a bit of persistence and a lot of careful movement to avoid galactic wormholes, I was able to take him down, and I’m sure you will be able to as well. Here is our guide on how to beat Silver Surfer in Marvel Cosmic Invasion.
Best Hero Combo For Fighting Silver Surfer

In this fight, we are looking for any hero with mobility and the ability to dash and dodge to keep you at a safe distance.
Silver Surfer is not the only foe in the arena; he will have Galactus at his back, helping Silver Surfer to make the fight even more intense, with lots of environmental hazards to worry about.
I highly suggest bringing Beta Ray Bill; his throwing hammer ability is a godsend against this boss fight. While blocking is certainly an option, the battle arena is working against any parry-type attack style. Then, as for his supporting character, we would suggest someone with ranged attacks and abilities, like Storm, Iron-Man, Phala-Vell, or Cosmic Ghostrider.
All Silver Surfer Attacks in Marvel Cosmic Invasion

With both Silver Surfer and Galactus to worry about, this battle is one that can get away from you in the blink of an eye. Mainly because the battlefield is loaded with hazards that chip away at health whilst Silver Surfer hits you with dark attacks and bounds around the place at pace.
So, the key here is to constantly be on the move, use attacks at a distance to chip away at Surfer’s health, and try to always stand on solid ground. But, alongside that, you’ll need to know what attacks are coming your way:
Surfing Melee Attack

All of Silver Surfer’s melee attacks come directly after they start emanating a pink glow, making them easy to spot. He will either take a diving swipe at you, lift his surfboard upwards like an uppercut, or rush you.
In all three instances, one thing that will remain familiar is the pink glare around his body. All melee-based attacks can be blocked or dodged. So take advantage of these attacks and land a counter, or get out of his way to avoid taking any damage.
One-handed Laser Attack

Silver Surfer will stop for a split second to fire a laser beam from his hand. This can be hard to predict, so when possible, try not to stand directly in line with him, and also try to stand behind him where possible if you are going for an up close and personal approach.
If you do happen to be positioned behind him, you can get a few cheap shots in. But, if you are in front, don’t try to block this one; always move or dodge to evade this laser attack.
Galactus Laser Attack

Countless times, I got caught in Galactus’s AoE attack while going all out on Silver Surfer. Galactus will fire down two separate attacks without taking any break between them.
These are relatively well telegraphed, but there is a timing element to these waves of lasers. So try to time a running dash through the middle of the arena when there is a break in the beams.
Galactus’ Gravitational Pull

By far the most hazardous attack during this fight is Galactus gravitational pulls from the ground, creating a dangerous circle-shaped spot on the floor.
These spots are deadly; stepping on them will slow you down, leaving you vulnerable to damage. The slow-down debuff is indicated by the dark-purple ball attached to the body. The spots encourage the player to move around the arena, and we encourage you to keep moving also.
When these are in awkward positions, as is often the case, this is when you’ll want to rely on ranged attacks, projectiles, and defensive maneuvers. Then, when these are clear, you can go on the offensive again.
Tips for Defeating Silver Surfer

- From the start of the battle, you will have to deal with Galactus in the background. Don’t try to rush at the Silver Surfer when you see Galactus pulling rocks off the ground. While the laser attack can be easily avoided, the same can’t be said of the gravity attack.
- Use the projectiles as much as you can to hit the Silver Surfur at a safe distance. It will save you from getting caught in tight spots, which will be a lot in this boss battle.
- Don’t try to block frequently in this fight, while the option for counter is on the menu. But the best way to deal with the boss is to dodge, since the arena will be filled with many AoE-based attacks.
- If you are planning to deal melee damage against Silver Surfer, then be ready to dodge or block its upcoming surfboard melee move. The chances are he will fly off using his surfboard.
The fast-paced movement of the Silver Surfer mixed with AoE effects in the arena will make this one heck of a frenzied battle. Always be on the move to avoid any kind of nasty debuffs on your character.
