Limbus Company – Best Middle Nursefather Outis Build

Another Limbus Company update means another ID, and this time we’ve got another addition to the House of Spiders, the Middle Nursefather Outis. Acting as the fabled sixth member of the Middle, ensuring 6+ Envy Resonance and bringing all kinds of power to the table. The question stands: what’s the best Middle Nursefather Outis build, and what teams will she thrive in?

As a massive addition to the Middle based Envy teams, burn, and a certain Ryoshu identity, Middle Nursefather Outis has made a massive splash. Let’s go over exactly how she works and how to best build her.

Is Middle Nursefather Outis Worth Pulling?

Limbus Company’s Season 7 has added a legion of powerful Identities through the Nursefathers, and Middle Nursefather Outis is no exception. With her sheer flexibility, individual power, and flair, Middle Nursefather Outis is absolutely worth pulling for.

Prioritize pulling or sharding her if you have a Blade of the House of Spider Ryoshu, or an Envy Res team ready to go.

She also works decently in Burn, battling for her slot with Magic Bullet Outis. While Magic Bullet’s Dark Flame is hard to undersell, being tied to Walpurgisnacht makes her harder to acquire, and Middle Nursefather Outis’s superior damage per skill and self-sustain keep her competitive.

    Middle Nursefather Outis’s Full Kit

One-upping Blade of the House of Spiders, Middle Nursefather Outis packs 9 different skills. As a Middle Indentity, you’ll be getting of plenty use from her defensive counter, as well as the numerous different followups she brings to the table.

If that wasn’t enough, Outis isn’t one to accept bad performances from her allies. The Middle Nursefather has brought a secret trick up her sleeve to make the most of fumbles, no matter who makes them. Let’s start the indepth look with her passives!

Passive – Smell of Blood and Fire

Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Middle Nursefather Outis is considered a unit with that inflicts both Burn and Bleed, allowing her to be buffed by EGO Gifts that encourage either. Once she has reached the First Seal Removed or Second Seal Removed states, her Bleed skills apply Burn as well.

    Passive – Sealed Sword [Lævateinn]

When the Encounter begins, Middle Nursefather Outis gains the buff Sealed Sword, granting her 2 Haste, and amplifying her Blunt attack damage against units with Bleed.

This buff changes as Middle Nursefather Outis unseals her sword, transitioning from the First Seal Removed, Second Seal Removed, and finally Lævateinn. The First and Second Seals grant Outis Haste, extra damage against Bleeding enemies, and additional affinity damage on the final coin of Base Skills.

Once Lævateinn is fully unsealed, Outis applies 3 Burn to every unit at the start of every turn, gains new Skills for every slot, and deals extra Pierce damage on the final coin of Base Skills.

Middle Nursefather Outis gains Rising Fever at the start of the turn based on the current Unseal State of Lævateinn.

    Sealed Sword1 Rising Fever
    First Seal Removed2 Rising Fever
    Second Seal Removed2 Rising Fever

    Rising Fever is lost by

    • Using Outis’s Skill 3, “Stamp of Vengeance”. This also counts if activated via her counter.
    • Accumulating 6+ Envy Absolute Resonance on a turn, lining up 6 Envy skills one after another

Outis can only lose 1 stack of Rising Fever every turn, even if both conditions for lowering it are met.

When Middle Nursefather Outis’s Rising Fever reaches 0, she gets a free cast of her Skill 3-3, “Time to Unpack!”, as an Unopposed Attack on a random enemy or part at the end of her skills. If Outis couldn’t use “Time to Unpack!” on the turn she lost all her Rising Fever, she’ll use it immediately on the next turn start.

Outis will also immediately cast “Time to Unpack!” if she reaches 80% HP while still in Sealed Sword mode, regardless of her current Rising Fever.

Once Middle Nursefather Outis reaches 50% HP, she gains three stacks of Ridiculous Grit. Ridiculous Grit sets all incoming attack damage to Normal resistance, while lowering her damage taken based on her Vengeance Tattoo stacks.

When Outis is staggered for the first time in a fight, she’ll clear the stagger at the end of the turn, gaining 15 The Middle – Grudge stacks. The stacks are consumed by her other skills, and having even one increases her damage dealt to enemies with Vengeance Mark, the Middle’s shared debuff, by 20%.

When Middle Nursefather Outis reaches 15 stacks of The Middle – Grudge, she automatically replaces a skill on the dashboard with her Skill 3, up to three times per encounter.

    Passive – Parenting

If the Middle Apprentice Ishmael is active alongside Middle Nursefather Outis, they both gain unique buffs whenever they win Clashes or hit enemies with Skills.

Middle Nursefather Outis gains “Check This Out, Kiddo!“, stacking up to 10 times and granting Final Power for every 5 stacks. Her Blunt skills also deal extra damage based on the stacks, up to a 10% boost. Outis loses a stack every time she is hit by two Skills on the same turn.

Middle Apprentice Ishmael gains “I Got Praised!“, mirroring “Check This Out, Kiddo!“‘s effects and conditions. Both Ishmael and Outis gain extra stacks of their partner buffs if they hit enemies with their counters.

Passive – Saikai – The Middle

If Middle Nursefather Outis is dead at the start of the Encounter, or dies during it, Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu gains a stack of Entanglement, she takes 20% less damage, and earns Offensive Level Up every time she is hit.

A stellar tanking bonus to BoHoS Ryoshu, Outis’s death can empower Ryoshu even further than she could on her launch.

    Passive – Thanks… Kiddo.

Once Middle Nursefather Outis fully unseals Lævateinn, the first time an ally under 20% HP loses a clash, Outis will cancel both clashing skills and use “Good Girl. Your Sacrifice for the Family Won’t Be Forgotten”. This attack targets both the enemy and the ally caught in the clash, dealing damage to both. Middle Apprentice Ishmael only needs to be at 30% HP to trigger this effect.

If the ally caught in the attack is killed and was a Middle Identity, Middle Nursefather Outis gains Envy Damage Up next turn. If the ally slain was Middle Apprentice Ishmael, Outis gains the unique buff Avenging My Family instead. Avenging My Family gives Outis’s Envy Base Skills 20% more damage, and +1 Final Power. Avenging My Family lasts for the rest of the Encounter.

Passive – Book of Vengeance – The House of Spiders Special Clause

Once the team has accumulated 3 Envy Resources, this effect activates, applying Vengeance Mark and Book of Vengeance [The House of Spiders] to the enemy that dealt the most damage to allies this turn.

Middle Nursefather Outis gains 5 SP whenever she hits enemies suffering from Book of Vengeance [The House of Spiders]. Both Middle Nursefather Outis and Middle Apprentice Ishmael gain extra stacks of their Grudge buffs when attacking these marked enemies.

Middle Nursefather Outis can gain Grudge from multiple sources, including…

    • 1 for every allied Envy Resonance (Maximum 7 per turn)
    • 2 whenever Middle Nursefather Outis or Middle Apprentice Ishmael are struck by an enemy’s Skills.
    • 1 for every other allied Middle Identity struck by an enemy Skill.
    • An extra stack of Grudge if the enemy who caused Outis to gain a stack had Vengeance Mark.

Whenever Middle Nursefather Outis consumes 5 stacks of Grudge, she gains 1 stack of The Middle – Vengeance Tattoo [Great Sister]. These Vengeance Tattoos grant Outis +1 Final Power for every 5 stacks, and amplify Envy and Blunt Skill damage by 5% for each stack. Outis can accumulate a maximum of 10 stacks of The Middle – Vengeance Tattoo [Great Sister].

Support Passive – Someone Mess With the Family?

Once the active team has accumulated 4 Envy Resonance on a turn, Middle Nursefather Ishmael applies 1 stack of Damage Up and Protection on allies that use Counter Skills. If the ally affected is from The Middle, she grants them 2 Envy Damage Up and 2 Protection instead.

    Skill 1 – Stomping

    Middle Nursefather Outis's Stomping skill
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Middle Nursefather Outis’s Skill 1 is a 2 coin Lust Blunt skill with Base Power 3 and Coin Power 4. “Stomping” gains +1 Coin Power for every 6 Burn + Bleed on the target, with a max of 2.

If Middle Nursefather Outis has fully unsealed Lævateinn, she replaces “Stomping” with “I’ll Gut You Like a Fish”.

On use, “Stomping” Heals 5 SP and converts the skill’s second coin into an Unbreakable Coin if Outis has any Vengeance Tattoos.

The first coin inflicts 2 Bleed Count and raises the enemy’s Stagger Threshold by 5. The second coin inflicts 1 Bleed and 1 Bind if Outis has Vengeance Tattoos.

    Skill 1-2 – I’ll Gut You Like a Fish

Locked behind Lævateinn, Middle Nursefather Outis’s Skill 1-2 is a 2 coin Envy Blunt skill with Base Power 3 and Coin Power 4. Both coins are Unbreakable Coins.

“I’ll Gut You Like a Fish” gains +1 Coin Power for every 6 Burn + Bleed on the target, with a max of 2. It also gains Offense Level equal to the highest Resonance on the team, maxing out at 3. If Middle Nursefather Outis has any Vengeance Tattoos, each coin landed deals an additional 1 Bleed on hit.

When using “I’ll Gut You Like a Fish”, Outis gains Burn equal to the number of coins in the skill, and loses 5 SP.

The first coin Inflicts 2 Bleed Count and raises the target’s Stagger Threshold by 10, while the second inflicts 4 Burn and 2 Burn Count, as well as 1 Bind and 1 Paralyze if Outis has any Vengeance Tattoos.

Skill 2 – Don’t Let Somethin’ Like This Break You!

    Middle Nursefather Outis's Skill 2
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Outis’s Skill 2 is a 3 coin Envy Blunt skill with Base Power 4 and Coin Power 4. “Don’t Let Somethin’ Like This Break You!” gains +1 Coin Power for every 6 Burn + Bleed on the target, with a max of 2. If Outis has unsealed Lævateinn, this skill is replaced with “Gut Stab”.

“Don’t Let Somethin’ Like This Break You!” gains Offense Level equal to the highest Resonance on the team, maxing out at 3. If Middle Nursefather Outis has any Vengeance Tattoos, each coin is replaced with an Unbreakable Coin, starting at Coin 3.

Seals 1 and 2 allow the attack to inflict Burn whenever it inflicts Bleed, and the Skill grants Outis 5 Aggro next turn, drawing enemy fire.

Coin 1 Inflicts 1 Bleed and 1 Bind. Coin 2 Inflicts 1 Bleed and 1 Paralyze. The final coin Inflicts Bleed, and extra Blunt damage based on the enemy’s Burn and Bleed if Outis has any Vengeance Tattoos.

Skill 2-2 – Gut Stab [Lævateinn]

“Gut Stab” is a 5 coin Envy Blunt skill with Base Power 3 and Coin Power 3 locked behind Lævateinn. If the enemy has 4 or more Bleed and Burn, the skill gains 1 Final Power.

“Gut Stab” gains Offense Level equal to the highest Resonance on the team, with a max of 3. Using the skill grants Outis 5 Aggro next turn, while also inflicting her with Burn equal to the Skill’s coins and draining 5 SP.

Each coin of the Skill attacks rapidly, one after the other. Coin 1 inflicts 1 Burn, coin 2 inflicts 1 Bleed, coin 3 inflicts Burn Count, coin 4 inflicts Bleed Count, and coin 5 inflicts Bind and Paralyze.

Skill 3 – Stamp of Vengeance

    Outis's skill 3
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

“Stamp of Vengeance” is a 4 coin Envy Blunt skill with Base Power 4 and Coin Power 3. The skill gains 1 Final Power for every 4 Burn and Bleed on the target, up to 3. At 6 or more Envy Resonance, the skill gains 1 extra Coin Power.

If Outis has unsealed Lævateinn, this skill is replaced with “Complete and Total Extermination”.

“Stamp of Vengeance” can gain a myriad of buffs, from Offense Level thanks to Resonance, Final Power based on Outis’s Vengeance Tattoos, Unbreakable Coins based on Vengeance Tattoos, and Burn alongside the Skill’s natural Bleed if Outis has started unsealing Lævateinn.

When the Skill ends, Middle Nursefather Outis consumes her Grudge stacks. She also gains Blunt Damage Up if the Skill was activated via her counter. Each coin applies Bleed and Bleed Count on hit.

Skill 3-2 – Complete and Total Extermination [Lævateinn]

Middle Nursefather Outis's Enhanced Skill 3
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Middle Nursefather Outis’s ultimate Skill, “Complete and Total Extermination,” is locked behind Lævateinn, rewarding the process with mountains of damage.

“Complete and Total Extermination” is a 5 coin Blunt Envy Skill with Base Power 4 and Coin Power 3. The Skill gains 1 Final Power for every 4 Burn and Bleed on the enemy, up to 3, and deals 1% extra damage for every point of Bleed and Burn, up to 40%.

Having Vengeance Tattoos grants “Complete and Total Extermination” extra Coin Power, and allows every coin landed to deal 1 extra Bleed potency on hit. Before the attack goes off, Outis gains burn equal to the number of coins in the Skill.

Afterwards, Outis loses 5 SP, consumes all her Grudge stacks, and, if activated via her counter, gains 1 Blunt Damage Up next turn.

Coin 1 inflicts 4 Burn, coin 2 inflicts 2 Burn count, and from then on, things get interesting.

Coin 3 inflicts 4 Bleed, and deals bonus Slash damage equal to the Burn and Bleed on the enemy, multiplied by 2% of the coin’s final damage.

Coin 4 inflicts 2 Bleed Count, then repeats the bonus Slash damage. Coin 5 does the same calculation for a burst of both Blunt and Pierce damage, making the final hit absolutely devastating.

Skill 3-3 – Time to Unpack!

Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

“Time to Unpack!” is a unique Skill that can’t be reused and only goes off when Outis loses Rising Fever stacks. It’s a 4 coin Envy Blunt Skill with a Base Power of 4 and Coin Power of 3. Having any amount of Vengeance Tattoos grants the final coin bonus Slash damage.

Coin 1 inflicts 3 Burn, coin 2 inflicts 3 Bleed, coin 3 raises the enemy’s Stagger Threshold, and coin 4 inflicts 2 Envy Fragility. Once the attack ends, Outis removes a Seal from her sword, increasing it’s power and moving closer to unlocking Lævateinn.

Skill 3-4 – Good Girl, Your Sacrifice for the Family Won’t Be Forgotten.

Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

A bit of a mouthful, this is Middle Nursefather Outis’s secret attack, only used when a low HP ally loses a clash while Outis has Lævateinn unsealed.

Outis targets both the ally and the enemy trapped in the clash, gaining damage and Final Power based on her Vengeance Tattoos, up to 100% damage and 3 bonus Final Power. If Middle Apprentice Ishmael is a target, the attack deals an extra +100% damage.

When the attack ends, Outis consumes all her Grudge before gaining up to 10 extra, if the ally targeted dies. The attack’s single coin is Unbreakable, and lowers the enemy’s Blunt resistance to guarantee damage. The enemy suffers from 3 Burn/Bleed Potency and Count, as well as extra Blunt damage equal to 100% of the coin’s final damage.

    Defensive Skill – Rule Violation

    Middle Nursefather Outis's counter
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

A stand Middle 2 coin Blunt Envy Counter, “Rule Violation” is replaced with either “Stamp of Vengeance” or “Complete and Total Extermination” if the team has 6+ Envy Resonance this turn.

When used, Outis gains a shield equal to 30% of her missing HP.

Middle Nursefather Outis Team Comps and Builds

Like very member of the Middle, Outis’s best team is easy to point out, but that doesn’t mean she can’t perform in other lineups. No matter where you put her, EGOs are important additions, so let’s go over a few teams and builds that exemplify Middle Nursefather Outis’s strengths.

    Middle Envy Resonance

    The full middle envy team
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Moreso than any other Syndicate we have units from, the Middle is all about playing together. The Middle have always relied on Sin Resonance to empower themselves, and Outis’s arrival allows them to guarantee 6 Envy Res on every turn of a fight.

This time is rather simple, requiring the 6 Middle Identities currently on offer, with your choice of ID that has an Envy Defensive Skill for slot 7. I personally run AEDD Gregor, who can take plenty of punches while easily providing Envy Res should he accidently slip into the Middle’s order.

    Outis's Envy EGO
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

If you’re running this team, make sure to equip Outis with the battlepass EGO, “I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?” Not only does this cheap Zayin tier EGO heal allies and allow for extra Bleed application, but it also consumes Envy EGO resources and swaps them around for other, unowned resources.

The Middle’s reliance on Envy makes it very difficult to fuel EGOs, a major weakness that “I’ll Go fer Scissors, How ‘Bout You?” solves all on its own.

    Burn

A burn lineup Middle Nursefather Outis
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

Now, Magic Bullet Outis has long stood as a dominant force in the accepted Burn lineup. I’ve personally been convinced, however, that as long as you run the Magic Bullet EGO, Middle Nursefather Outis can thrive while providing more damage and a much tankier body.

Magic Bullet’s EGO passive allows Outis to apply Dark Flame to any enemy afflicted with 30+ Burn on hit, twice per turn. This potency requirement is incredibly easy to fulfill in a modern burn lineup, especially with Middle Nursefather Outis’s own constant application.

Magic Bullet Outis has always suffered from inconsistent damage and squishy defensive stats. Thanks to Middle Nursefather Outis, the King of Ithica can stand on the frontline while continuing to melt anyone who stands before her.

    Full House of Spiders

    The House of Spiders team
Image via TheGameSlayer | Project Moon

While not really a Middle Nursefather Outis team per se, Outis’s newest ID absolutely has a spot in the BoHoS Ryoshu lineup. Not only is she an extra source of Thread for Ryoshu, but Outis’s unique buff lowers Ryoshu’s damage taken by a whopping 20%.

This makes BoHoS Ryoshu even more ridiculously powerful. TLDR: if you want to run Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu, make sure you add Middle Nursefather Outis to the chopping block.
