Entering the desert plains of Gizeh will open up a bunch of new missions involving lost artifacts, Ancient Egyptian Gods, and much more. This place offers a break from the Jungle and City views, with orange sand and centuries-old structures all around you.
While in Gizeh, there are objects that you’ll have to collect called the Gizeh Steles. These are scattered throughout Gizeh and Nawal wants you to smuggle a few of them to the Cairo Museum. Some of these can be accessed once you have begun ‘The Idol of Ra’ quest. Here’s a guide to the locations of all the Gizeh Steles, and what to do with them once you have collected all 10.
How To Get All 10 Missing Steles In Indiana Jones And The Great Circle
There are 10 Steles to locate in Gizeh:
- Protector Stele
- Death Stele
- Harvest Stele
- Sebek Stele
- Victory Stele
- Giant Stele
- Light Stele
- Construction Stele
- Amon Stele
- Ra Stele
Make sure you’ve purchased the lighter from a vendor named “Asmaa”, as all of the locations of the missing Steles will be hidden in the dark. She’ll be selling the lighters for 75 Egyptian pounds. While there are 10 Gizeh Steles, you’ll have access to only 6, the rest will be available once you start the Idol of Ra mission. Let’s look at each of these and how to get them in the game.
Protector Stele
The Protector Stele is obtained after you solve the Light Mirror puzzle, as part of the Sanctuary of Guardians quest. While we have a detailed guide on the Sanctuary of the Guardians quest, here is the short summary.
Head towards the left side of the Sphinx and go down into the dig site below. Gina will give you the Digsite outfit that you can use to disguise yourself. Wear and complete the quest, which involves finding the pendant in the Recreation Area. Once you have that, go back to the previous area and use the pendant to open the underground section.
There you’ll have to solve the Light Mirror puzzle. Once that’s done, you’ll find the Protector Stele at the very end. The Stele depicts a winged guardian figure watching over the ruler.
Death Stele
Go to the Southern part of the ruins with guards all around it. If you go to the back of the square chambers, you’ll see a staircase with an opening at the left side of the room. It will be blocked by straws, so use your lighter to burn the barrier away. Squeeze yourself through the narrow pathway.
You’ll then have to swing twice in a row over a huge pit. After the first swing, quickly latch onto the next rafter so that you don’t end up falling into the pit. At the end of this room will be the Death Stele.
Harvest Stele
Go to the Recreation Area’s garage, and there will be a truck standing on the corner of the road. Find the sheet of paper on the left side of this garage. It will let you know that the code is “0805” which can be entered into the chest on the truck. Opening it will give you the Harvest Stele, which depicts a bountiful Harvest.
The table where the note was found, and the table on the right side of the truck, both of them have cash boxes. You can break these boxes using any tool to obtain Reichsmarks.
Sebek Stele
Travel towards the East of the Vehicle Depot where you find the Harvest Stele. There will be a Tomb entrance in this area with a sledgehammer near it. Use it to break open the blocked entrance and follow the stairs leading underground. At the end of this path will be a straw barrier, burn it down using the lighter you purchased. There will be a pit of spikes you have to slightly lower yourself into.
Swing yourself onto the hidden platform and pull the lever, causing the gate on the top to open. Use your whip to go back to the top and go through the gate, after which you’ll see that the Sebek Stele is on the left side of the room.
Victory Stele
On the west side of the map, near the Mortuary Temple Ruins, there’ll be another one of those stone doors that lead underground. Go inside and pick up the torch on the right so you can burn it and have some light. You’ll also be able to use it to scare away scorpions in the room at the very end of the stairs. Once the scorpions move away, go through the hole at the bottom of the wall. The Victory Stele will be on the sand in front of you.
Giant Stele
Go towards the Northeast side of the Sphinx ruins. Knock the guard out so that you don’t have any trouble exploring the area around him. There’ll be a pit in the middle of the area with a dead person inside it. Slowly lower yourself into the pit or jump in it and then crawl through an opening at the bottom of the wall before you. There will be a Stele lying on the ground in the center of the room.
Light Stele
For this Stele, you’ll have to start the Secret of the Queen Mother side quest. You can do this by talking to the NPC at the camp. Go to the Tomb of the Khentkawes I in the southwestern part of the map. There you’ll have to initially restore power to a lift by bringing the generators back to life.
There will be two chambers near the lift containing the generators. Try to turn them on and stay away from the soldiers. Read the note taped near the control panel of the elevator. It’ll tell you that you need to turn on both the red and the blue generators. You can turn them on by following these steps:
Blue Generator
Go up to the two pathways that lead you to the blue generator. Remember to take some bread that’ll be lying here and build your health. Go towards the stairs quietly and there will be a generator in front of you at the end of the stairs. As soon as it’s turned on, the group of guards that were inside the chamber will be electrocuted.
Go towards the large chamber on the left side of this place, where there will be a single guard. Knock him out and use your whip to go to the other side. Keep following the blue cable and go into the next room. The last area will have a chest that contains an Adventure book.
Red Generator
This one is found in the tunnel on the right side of the elevator. Follow the tunnel until you come across an excavation area. Keep going and you’ll be in a room with multiple guards in it. Take them down one by one so that you don’t have to deal with many soldiers at once. After knocking them out, go through the door on the right side and use the stairs to reach the top.
Be careful as there’ll be another soldier here. The red generator will be in the corner of this floor. It will be guarded by a strong soldier, so use a rifle and take him out. The lights will turn on once the generator is started, along with the elevator.
After the elevator is working again, go down into the Queen’s secret underground area. Take the money lying on the left side of the room. There’ll be a mural with all kinds of artwork depicting ancient times. Three circular plates will be scattered in the room. Place them in this order: Bird (top), Snake (middle), and Fish (bottom). A light will shine and point at the wall behind you. Break it down and the Light Stele will be yours.
Construction Stele
For this Stele, you’ll have to complete the Savage Predicament Fieldwork. Go up to Professor Savage in Gizeh Village. He will let you know that Voss’ goons have taken Sydney as a prisoner and you have to help out with it. You can find the Amon and Ra Stele while doing this mission.
- Sydney will be in the Nazi Detention center, so head over to the compound.
- After reading the note, go to the Khafre Excavation site
- Sydney can be found in the A1 Site, so drop into the pit using your whip and help him reach safety.
Once you return to Professor Savage, he will give you the Construction Stele as a reward.
Amon Stele
You’ll need the Wehrmacht Key for this Stele. Here’s how you can get it:
- This key will be present in a guard tower on the Eastern side of the Nazi compound. This is the area you’ll be at after coming out of the collapsing tunnels.
- Get into the tower by going to the back entrance and climbing the tower using your whip.
- Go through the open window and deal with the lone guard inside the tower.
- Take the Wehrmacht uniform from the first floor. This will give you the Wehrmacht Key.
After obtaining the key, wear the appropriate disguise and head over to the Nazi compound. Go near the Detention center area guarded by one of the soldiers. Keep going inside and go into the room on the right. You’ll need to go upstairs from here, where there will be another soldier near the window.
Going further from here will lead you to a storeroom that’s locked. Unlock the Wehrmacht door using the key and the Amon Stele will be on your left side. Also, take the medicine bottle lying on the shelf near the Stele. You can easily escape this place by jumping out of the window onto the scaffolding below.
There’s also another way you can get into the storeroom locked by Voss, and you don’t need the key for that. This is how you get to it:
Go behind the Detention center and climb onto the huge tank using your whip. Once you’re at the top, use your whip on the electricity pole on the right side and swing over to the wooden ramp on the other side. You’ll see a window at the top that you can climb into. This is the same storeroom window that has the Amon Stele.
Ra Stele
For this Stele, wear the Digsite outfit and head towards the Khafre Excavation Site. Find a large sandstone entrance on the west side of the main tent. Go through the pathway in front of you and pick up the shovel on the left before heading into the room on the right. Break down any walls with the help of the shovel.
Once you reach the end of the room, go through the narrow opening at the bottom of the right wall. In the new room you’re in, there will be a chain on the right side. Interact with it to open up the gate on the other side.
Go through the opening again and use your whip to reach the area on the left. This will be tricky, as the room is quite dark and you have to whip across twice. Make sure your stamina is high by eating fruits before finding this stele. Quickly hold onto the stone slabs on the left and climb up. Go towards the right side of this ledge and jump over the pit. There will be an open door that leads you to the Ra Stele.
Deliver the Stele
After collecting all the 10 Missing Stele, send them off to the museum.
Go to the shop and find the delivery boy. Place all of the Steles from your bag into the large box on the right. The Delivery boy will let you know that these objects will be safely preserved at the museum. Once you place the 10 Steles, he will give you an Ancient Relic that Nawal left for you. Taking it complete the Belongs in a Museum side quest.
