If you enjoy puzzle-solving, then Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the game for you. With each chapter, there are tons of puzzles to solve as you keep playing the game. In each region, you can pick up several side quests apart from the main story quest. There are a handful of Vatican Mystery side quests to solve, and one of them is the Snake in the Garden side quest. In this quest, you are tasked with solving the Ventura’s Bookcase puzzle. This guide shows how to get going on this and solve it easily.
How To Start Snake In The Garden Mystery
You unlock the Snake In The Garden Mystery by picking up a Bookcase Note in the Apostolic Palace. Once you reach the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican, make your way to the top floor of the main hall. Enter the doorway to the left of the statue, then continue onwards till you find a room with a desk on your right. Investigate the desk to pick up the Bookcase Note and start the Mystery quest.
How To Solve The Ventura’s Bookcase Puzzle
The Ventura Bookcase puzzle has you pulling specific books from the bookshelf in the right order to solve ‘A Snake in the Garden’ Mystery. The clue to the books, and the order, is in the Bookcase Note. If you flip the note over, you will find the name of four books, and a symbol next to each.
The bookshelf in question is just in front of the desk. Investigate it and you will get an icon to pull out some of the books. If you investigate the books, you will find that none of them have names, only symbols. This is where the puzzle can get tricky, you need to associate the name of the books to the symbols present on the books, as seen on the back of the Bookcase Note. Below are the book name and symbol combinations for reference.
- Francorum – Crown
- Logicae – Triangle
- QDV – Sun
- Philosophiae – Wheel
Now, all that is left is to pull the four books in the order below:
- We will start with Francorum, which is the second book from the left.
- Follow that up with the Logicae book on the far right.
- Next is Philosophiae, which is the first book on the left
- Lastly, you got the QDV between Francorum and Logicae.
Once completed, the platform beside the books will open up, revealing a wad of cash. Pick it up, which will give you roughly 120 money, and you will find a mystery note below it. Pick up Mussolini’s Letter to add to your collection and complete the Snake In The Garden side quest.
