Steps To Unlock The Secret Ending In Dragon Age: The Veilguard
We must complete some side quests to collect the item to help us unlock the secret ending.
- Step #1 Obtain the Mythal Essence
- Step #2 Collect Mysterious Circle in Arlathan Forest.
- Step #3 Collect Mysterious Circle in Necropolis Halls
- Step #4 Collect Mysterious Circle in Crossroads
That’s it, once you have obtained all three Mysterious Circles, you will unlock the secret ending to the game.
How To Convince Mythal To Give Up Mythal Essence Without A Fight
You need to finish Regrets of the Dread Wolf to obtain Mythal Light. To convince Mythal to help you out without getting into a fight, you need to choose a specific set of dialog choices, which we have listed below.
- Head to Crossroads and start Regrets of the Dread Wolf Region Quest. Here talk to Mythal to know more about the quest.
- There are two ways to go about this quest, you can either fight it out or end it on the pacifist route. We recommend the pacifist route to get the weapon and the item without resorting to violence.

The game will let you know that you have successfully gained Mythal’s Favor. After exhausting the dialogue, you will obtain an item titled Mythal Light (Uniuqe Mageknife) and Mythal Essence. The quest for “Regrets of the Dread Wolf” is now complete.
Trophy Unlock Clearing the quest without resorting to battle Mythal will earn you the achievement: “Clear Minds and Open Hearts.”
Second Step: Obtain Three Mysterious Circles
Here we must head over to Arlathan Forest, Necropolis Halls, and Crossroads to find all three Mysterious Circles.
Mysterious Circle #1 Arlathan Forest
Location: Arlathan Forest, Waterfront Glades
Map Level: 2
Laser Beam Puzzle:
Head over to the beacon at the east of the Arlathan Forest. Here you will find three laser beams focused on the island at the distance. But we will have to interact with four laser beams to take the shield off the place and access the chest inside.
Solution:
- To solve the puzzle, you need to set all three laser beams to hit the large crystal at a distance. They are always a few inches away from their original direction. The first two are close to each other, so you will have an easier time aligning the beams to the crystal.
- From the second laser beam spot, take the stairs on the left, to reach the location for the third beam. There will be a golden beam of light guiding you to the third laser. Once you reach the spot with the third laser, instead of focusing on the crystal, the beam should hit a square receiver. Upon interaction, it will activate the fourth beam on the top.
- Once that is done take the stairs on the left from the third laser beam area, and follow the golden beam of light line to the next location. Here you will arrive at the fourth laser beam location. Here you must align the laser to the crystal at the distance to finish it.
Now we can collect the reward in the middle, but isn’t going to be easy, as the game will spawn Guardian of Secrets for us to defeat. Defeat the boss and interact with the rotating ball-like time behind the chest, to collect our first Mysterious Circle. You will get a Library Update notification with a New Codex Entry of A Mysterious Circle.
Mysterious Circle #2 Necropolis Halls
We must finish a companion quest and a side quest to access the Mysterious Circle in Necropolis Halls.
Location: Chamber of the Unforged, Necropolis Halls
Map Level: 1
Requirement:
To unlock the Mysterious Circles in Necropolis Halls, you must finish two quests.
- Quest #1 Complete “Restless Spirits“, Emmrich’s First Companion Quest.
- Quest #2 Complete the “Pinnacle of its Kind” side quest.
Completing the Pinnacle of its Kind will allow us to access the “Chamber of the Unforged area “in Necropolis Halls. We will find our chest on Map Level 1 in Chamber of the Unforged, pass the large area at the end of the room to collect the Second Mysterious Circle.
Mysterious Circle #3 Crossroads
You just need to complete only one side quest to access the mysterious circle in Crossroads.
Location: Beacon Island, Crossroads

Requirement:
- To access the mysterious circle in Crossroads, you must complete the “Heart of Corruption “side quest. This on its own is a pretty involved side quest and will have you fighting some tough high-level elite bosses. Thankfully, this quest can be tracked in your journal and is easy to follow and reach the required locations for each of these fights.
Since the location has only one beacon, fast-travel to the location and start heading towards the west of the beacon to find our treasurebox. You have to climb through some stairs and ledges to find the final Mysterious Circle in the last corner of the area.
Unlocking The Secret Ending To Dragon Age: The Veilguard
After you have obtained all three mysterious circles. the secret ending will unlock.
Complete the game and you will see the secret cutscene play out at the end of the game, during the credits. We don’t want to spoil you for your moment, but it is pretty interesting, to say the least.
Achievement Unlocked: Once the secret ending unlocks in your game, you will earn the trophy “The Storm Quelled.”
