How to Unlock and Use Soryu in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion

Soryu is one of the best Tachi weapons in Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion, compared to most other weapons in-game. Much like every other weapon, you have to farm the weapon by killing a certain boss over and over again. Since loot drops are randomized in the game, there might come a point in-game where you absolutely want the weapon, but cannot get it.

So, if you are one of those players who want the benefit of using Soryu in Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion and ultimately dominate the battlefield, here’s how to increase your chances of getting Soryu.

Defeating Yaiba is a sure-fire way of getting Soryu and moving on to the next missions in-game. This also drops the Futsunushi armor. The game, however, also lets you spare bosses in fights, in which case you won’t receive their weapons. So, if you spared Yaiba and lost the opportunity of getting Soryu, you can target a particular mission in-game named Rampaging Echoes.

Before attempting the mission, it is recommended to save the game, in case the weapon does not drop from Yaiba and his minions. Basically, you fight a horde of enemies in this mission, after which Yaiba and his group of enemies appear. You’ll have to keep attempting this mission until you find the weapon you need.

If you get it on the first attempt, congratulations. You can move on to the next set of missions and progress through the storyline. If you, unfortunately, don’t receive the weapon, reload the save you made before attempting Rampaging echoes, and try it again.

Here is some general information about Soryu as a weapon, and what to expect from it if you still haven’t decided on picking it up.

    PropertyDetails
Weapon typeTachi. It can be made into a long-blade and is best suited for close combat.
UsageYou can use it as either a long-blade that deals high damage, or two-handed, which allows for various combos.
Combo PotentialUnder certain conditions, when the weapon is used two-handed, it lets you chain combos continuously when not interrupted.

Soryu is best played with a melee-focused build with critical modifiers attached to it. You can pair this weapon with a high-burst fusion skill, and with loadouts allowing you to chain attacks uninterrupted. That is when the full potential of this weapon comes out, as this weapon lets you keep performing combos over and over again in its two-handed mode. This makes this weapon one of the best DPS weapons in-game. Soryu’s attack also hits twice, doubling the damage values of the weapon.

Not only that, the critical damage also doubles, thanks to its general properties of hitting twice. Soryu comes with a base damage value of 749, which doubles to 1498 damage. Every value of this weapon is multiplied by twice its base value, except the Forward Thrust values, which default to 19.04. This weapon also comes with a high critical damage bonus and strong critical scaling, making it a great choice to unleash devastating attacks in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion.
