Once Human is enjoying a great run with a good number of players continuing to spend time with the game. The well-fleshed out gameplay loop of exploring, finding resources and upgrading your character and the base you set up is one of the key reasons for Once Human being able to maintain such a consistently high active player count on Steam. The game also provides a means to interact with your friends by trading stuff with them. We have put up here a detailed guide on how to trade with friends in Once Human.

You can trade with friends in Once Human by installing a Vending Machine at your base. Once that is done, you can then advertise and attract friends and other gamers to your base to come and trade with you.

How To Get A Vending Machine In Once Human

You can set up a Vending Machine at your base by doing the following:

    • Unlock the Vending Machine from the Logistics tab in the Memetics Tree. This unlocks at Level 3, and does not need any other unlocks as a pre-requisite
    • Keep in mind that you will need 5 Cipher Points and 700 Energy Links to unlock the Vending Machine Memetic

    • Next, go to Build -> Function -> Function Facilities; and select the Vending Machine when at your base to craft and install it.
    • You will need to have the following resources in place to be able to craft a Vending Machine:
      • 20 * Steel Ingot
      • 10 * Copper Ingot
      • 8 * Standard Part
      • 3 * Electronic Part
      • 6 * Glass
    • The Vending Machine needs 2W to function, so ensure that it is connected to a power generator source through wires.

It will be a good idea to put it outside your base to help increase its visibility to other players.

Once you have set up your Vending Machine, you can now trade with other players by performing the following steps:

    • Interact with the Vending Machine by pressing F
    • Select the items you want to trade
    • Select if you want Energy Links or specific items in return
    • Add a slogan (max30 characters) to promote your Vending Machine

And that is how you can use a Vending Machine to trade with friends in Once Human. The game has several key items that can make your base that much stronger and complete, and you may want a Solar Drill, for example – or you may want to keep an Extradimensional Cat deviant around!
