Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is known for supplying complex puzzles, and you get the same experience while completing the Order of the Giants DLC. One such is the Monster Gate Puzzle, which you will come across as part of the main quest, towards the latter part of the DLC.
Monster Gate Puzzle Location in Indiana Jones Order of Giants DLC
The Monster Gate puzzle is located at the bottom levels of the sewer system and is one of the last puzzles to solve in the game. You will find the puzzle after escaping Ricci’s basement. Cultists guard the puzzle, so defeat them all first before you get to solving it. Weapons are lying around to be used, but if you have your strength skills upgraded, then fighting them with bare fists will be a piece of cake.
Once the area is cleared, run around and locate the 4 missing tiles; they are easy to spot. Place them in the correct slots to unlock a secret area on the wall. Pick up the cogwheel from within and walk to the front, where the puzzle altar is, and put the cogwheel in it. Pick up the Cylinder Roll on the altar and place it in the center dial of the altar.
Monster Gate Puzzle Solution
Your next step is to investigate the four pillars in the room. Each pillar corresponds to an animal; you got the Raven, Horse, Snake, and Scorpion. When you check out the giant mural ahead, you will notice the same animals on it, and they have numbers written near them. Note down the numbers that correspond with each animal, or check out the list below.
- Horse: III
- Scorpion: VI
- Raven: V
- Snake: II
Head back to the altar and rotate the Cylinder Roll. First, pick an animal and rotate the cylinder to the corresponding number. Stop rotating the cylinder once done, the mural should move and showcase the animal on the top wheel and a symbol right below it.
Note down the symbol for each animal, then head over to the respective animal’s pillar. Rotate the bottom pillar so the symbol falls under the picture of the animal. If done correctly, a slot within the giant mural ahead will open up. Pick up the Cylinder Roll and place it within the slot and rotate it, which completes the puzzle and unlocks the next area.
