Since reaching the endgame of Dune Awakening, you might have come across a handful of abandoned player bases. These bases are lootable, but some of them are stuck under a certain timer. You need to wait out the timer before you get the go ahead, but knowing when the base is available to loot is another question. This guide will explain how to loot bases in Dune Awakening.
Looting Abandoned Bases in Dune Awakening
Dune Awakening has been out for a while now, and with the lack of endgame content, there has been a shift in the player base. It is very likely you will find several abandoned bases in Hagga Basin. Most of them are lootable, but there is one small problem. Even if the player has abandoned their base, if the power is still running, the base will still be protected. There are a few ways to try and bypass that, starting with locating the Sub-Fief Console for the base.
Destroy the Sub Fief Console

Since all bases will own a Sub Fief Console, you need to locate and destroy it. The Basic or Advanced Sub-Fief Console is one of the core structures while base building. This is a requirement while expanding your base for late game, which makes it easier to accommodate more workbenches and vehicles and unlock more advanced crafting recipes.
But, since this structure cannot be destroyed by a player, you need to lure mobs or other enemies to come into the building and destroy it for you. Once the Fief console is destroyed, quickly plant your own console to claim the base as your own. This allows you to farm any items left behind and also get this as a new base.
Let the Base Decay

Another way to loot a base is to wait for it to naturally decay. This takes several in-game days, as the decay starts from the top of the building to the bottom. To know how long it will take for a structure to decay, head into Building mode and select the Repair option. Hover over the structures and objects around you to know their current state and how long it takes for it to reach the end stages of decay.
Tips to Loot Bases
- Be prepared with your Sub Fief Console when you plan on looting another player’s abandoned base.
- Also, enemy players may try and plant their own Fief Consoles if you are not careful, so quickly place one down after the original console is destroyed.
- Explore an abandoned base first and check out any storage containers to know the type of loot available before going ahead.
- Melee enemies tend to have longer leashes to follow you, which is useful when you want them to get into the base and shoot the Fief Console.
- Hide behind the console right at the enemy’s line of sight so the console takes damage and ultimately gets destroyed.
- To protect your base from raids while you are away, always keep a tab on your own Fief Console. This will indicate the amount of power supplied to your base, keeping your shields active and protect it from raids.
