Then again, not everyone wants to party up when they play Dark and Darker. While taking on the treacherous depths of this game is harder when you’re going solo, it’s perfectly doable if you have the right strategy.
The Demon Berserker in Dark and Darker is a miniboss that you can run into at the Inferno level. Running into the enemy when you’re playing solo can be terrifying, especially when you don’t know his moveset. But with the right strategy, it’s nothing that you can’t handle.
In this guide, we’ll show you the tricks to killing the Demon Berserker in Dark and Darker so that you don’t have to run away in fear the next time you face him. Let’s get started.
Best Strategy to Kill the Demon Berserker
The key to defeating the Demon Berserker is to learn his attack patterns and dodge at the right time. In Dark and Darker, combat can feel clunky at times. But if you’ve played first-person games with sword combat like Dishonored or Kingdom Come Deliverance, you shouldn’t have too much trouble with it.
The Demon Berserker only has one attack pattern. He slashes his giant sword diagonally, alternating between left and right – that’s it. And since he has a long windup, you can easily tell which side he’s going for. There are two strategies that we can recommend to take him down easily.
Alternate Dodge
The first strategy to kill the Demon Berserker is to simply dodge in response to where he attacks. As we said, the miniboss has a long windup. When he lifts his sword from the left, he’s going to hit the right, and when he lifts to the right, he’ll hit the left.
With this strat, you’re only trying to survive his combo. Once he stops attacking, you’ll have a good window to get a couple of hits in. When the Demon Berserker starts attacking again, you go back to dodging. Rinse and repeat, and he’ll go down in no time.
Strafe Counterclockwise
Another strategy, and the one we recommend you follow when facing the Demon Berserker, is to strafe counterclockwise around him. When he performs a right attack, you need to jump and crouch immediately. For the left swing, you need to crouch. Keep doing it while strafing counterclockwise around the enemy while getting in one or two hits every chance you get.
Once he stops his combo, you’ll have a window to get in a few more hits. If you manage to get to his back during his combo, this gives you a lot more hitting opportunity. The good thing about this strat is that even if you have a slow-move speed character, you can dodge his attacks.
