Hollow Knight: Silksong can be challenging, but the game gives you plenty of weapons and abilities to counter the enemies. One of the abilities that will come in handy the second you boot up the game is the act of healing by casting Bind. Just like the original Hollow Knight, you can also heal in the Silksong, but at a faster rate than the original. Here are some of the ways you can heal in Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Healing In Hollow Knight: Silksong Explained

You heal in Hollow Knight Silksong by casting Bind, resting at Benches, and acquiring certain collectibles. In combat and while exploring, though, the best way of healing will always be casting Bind.
Casting Bind
Every time you deal or take damage from enemies, Hornet gains Silk. You can keep track of the Silk amount in the gauge available at the top left of the screen. The gauge will stay empty at first, but as you kill or take damage from enemies, it will start to fill with Silk.
Once the gauge is filled with Silk, you can press the B button on Xbox, Circle on PlayStation, and A on the Keyboard to cast the Bind action to heal up Hornet. Next to the gauge, you will see five masks, each of which serves as a Heart (HP) in the game. When you cast Bind, it will instantly heal up three out of five masks in the game.
Note: You can find various items in the game that can extend the heal from the Bind function; you can heal up more than three masks at a time.
If you have played the original Hollow Knight, then you will notice the healing is far quicker in Silksong compared to the original. Hornet can carry out the healing animation in mid-air as well while moving.
Note: The Silk gauge at the top left corner of the HUD must be filled with the Silk to help the Hornet cast Bind to heal. Hornet will not be able to heal with half of the Silk present in the gauge.
Interruption to Bind Will Break The Healing
Casting Bind comes with its own share of risk that you should be aware of when you are healing in the middle of the battle. When you get attacked or interrupted by an enemy while casting Bind to heal, you will lose all the Silk and a Mask, leaving you in a helpless state.
So it’s up to you to choose the perfect time to cast Bind, as the animation doesn’t have any invisible frames. You are vulnerable when you are casting Bind. We recommend that you do it when the boss stops attacking for a few seconds. Always heal when you usually attack during fights. Instead of attacking, try healing up. Pick your time or you will take the damage.
Other methods of healing in Hollow Knight: Silksong include resting at the Benches, which also saves your game. And the very last way to restore health is by collecting four Mask Shards. This will restore Hornet’s Health and also increase the overall max health by one.
