In open-world survival games, knowing where to go for specific resources is one of the biggest challenges. ASKA hurls you into a dangerous new world, and the biggest enemy here is Mother Nature itself. The first challenge you’ll face when you start a new game is ensuring a steady water supply.
Finding water can be challenging at first, but once you know how the system works, things become much easier.
In this guide, we’ll give you a quick rundown of how to get water in ASKA and the most efficient ways to ensure a constant supply. Let’s get started.
How to Get Water in ASKA
As you start the game, your main source of water would be berries and natural water collectors. Don’t expect to find a massive water source like a river or stream. We looked for one for hours only to come up short.
The problem is that natural water collection sources like the rocks with visible liquids spread around everywhere on the map won’t properly hydrate you. While they may fill up your hydration meter a bit, they’re not a very efficient way to get water in ASKA.
Instead, you want to start building your base as fast as possible. Find a good spot and start laying down your essential structures so that you can start setting up a steady water supply.
There are two main buildings that you want to construct:
Rain Collector:
The Rain Collector accessed from the Build Menu requires 6 Sticks and 3 Long Sticks to construct. It’s a quick and easy way to ensure a steady water source for yourself and your first tribesman.
To collect the necessary resources to build a Rain Collector, you need a Stone Axe to chop down trees, a Wooden Hoe to prime the land where you will place the collector, and a Wooden Hammer to build it.
Water Well:
With the Rain Collector, you can ensure a steady water supply for a small group of villagers. However, as your population rises, you need a bigger water source. This is where the Water Well comes in.
You need 12 Small Stones and 20 Sticks to construct it. It can only be built on top of a natural water collector. Keep this in mind when you’re looking for the best place to build your base in ASKA.
There you have it. Once you manage to construct these two water sources, you’ll have a steady supply of water to keep you and your villagers happy. Before that point, you’ll have to make do with Berries and Natural Water Collectors.
