Personalities in Dragon Quest 3 Remake are more than just character traits. Before we even start off with the storyline, the game asks us all sorts of questions that it will use to assign a personality. This will greatly affect how the gameplay will unfold overtime.
While you can choose to answer those questions on your own, you can also make sure you’re getting the best experience by choosing a specific personality. Out of all the 45 personalities, Vamp has the highest number of advantages, and one that you should definitely consider. In this article, we have put up all the information on the Vamp personality in Dragon Quest 3, so let’s get started
How To Get The Vamp Personality
You can get categorized as a Vamp through the game’s personality quiz by answering questions in a specific manner. Select the B Character type while starting the game. You’ll soon have to answer some questions, so just follow the answers we’ve given below and you’ll have higher chances of ending up with the Vamp Personality.

Once you’re done answering these questions, you’ll be taken to “The Queen’s Treachery” quest. Here you’ll have to carefully select another thread of answers as even one wrong answer might prevent you from getting the Vamp Personality.
After taking control of the character, go through the door and speak to the Queen of the land. Talk to the King next and answer his questions with a No (He will ask if you have anything to say to him). Go ahead and speak to the chancellor who’ll be on the right side of the carpet. Answer both of his questions with a Yes (Agree to follow the King’s orders).
Following these steps will give you the Vamp Personality right at the beginning of the game.
How To Change To A Vamp In Dragon Quest 3 Remake
If you started the game with a different personality, you can switch to a Vamp by using a Garter or the Guns n’Buns book. While this was not possible in the older DQ games, the Remake thankfully allows you to alter your personality temporarily or permanently.
Garter: The Garter is an accessory that temporarily alters your personality and changes it to that of a Vamp. You must use it on a female character and equip it in the main accessory slot. Garter can be acquired by collecting and returning 10 mini-medals to the Man in the Aliahan well. You can also find it through the Treasure Chest at Immigrant Town. This area can be found on the eastern coast of Soo. Some players have also obtained a Garter through the Dresser in the Ghost Ship.
The Guns n’ Buns Book:
The Guns n’ Buns book can be obtained by defeating Xenion, at the top floor of Cloudsgate Citadel. This one changes the personality of the hero or that of a party member into a Vamp permanently, unlike the Garter.
Keep in mind that obtaining the Guns n’ Buns book can change a male character’s (Appearance A) personality to a Charmer, while it will change the female character’s (Appearance B) personality to a Vamp.
